Sometime after we got back to Romania I was ready. Ready to give myself over to Indra. If you know what I mean.
He sat on the couch flipping through a book. I cozied up beside him and wiggled under his arms and onto his lap. I put my arms around his neck.
"Luc." He groaned. "I can't really see."
"Hm!" I continued to lay on him.
I sat up and kissed him. "Come on, let's fool around."
"I still don't think you're ready." He said.
I kissed his neck. "I'm initiating. Of course I'm ready."
"No." He said.
I sighed heavily and rolled off of him.
Another day it finally dawned on me that we were truly alone.
I walked downstairs and into the kitchen. Indra was cooking.
"Hey I think you'll like this dish." He said.
He slowly turned around. When he saw me he squeezed the plate and smashed it.
"Luc! Where are your clothes?"
I leaned against the doorway as sexily as I could.
"Is this what I gotta do to get some dick?" I then snorted and started laughing. Whelp. Sexy has gone out the window.
Indra ran over to me, picked me up, and ran upstairs.
I sat up from the bed.
"Hey." I called.
Indra turned to me. Our life together was put on hold for a while.
"I want you to promise me that someday you'll still make me your husband." I said.
Indra put his hand on mine. "I will. I promise." I smiled and nodded.
He kissed me and left the room. I bit my lip. Have to be careful doing that these days.
When my tolerance was good enough, I went back to school. School in Romania. Somedays I really miss Cody. I didn't make friends over the years. Didn't really need them.
That was eight years ago.
I am so close to becoming a psychologist. Everything is going perfectly. It's summer now. Nice enough to go out for a picnic.
"Okay. I'm going." Indra said.
"Come back soon." I smiled. Indra left. He was going to Raign's to visit and take care of business.
I don't really delve into that matter; the vampire world.
Renata touched my shoulder and handed me my psychology book.
"Thank you."
Indra:
He has no idea. I smiled.
"Luc." I called happily. I hid my ring.
"His dopamine levels are too high!" Luc shouted as he held his psychology book. He paced in front of the stairs.
He's beautiful. Over the years he let his hair grow out to his back and no longer hid his eye from me.
Renata sat on the stairs listening to Luc.
"Luc?" I called again.
"Look." I said. I opened the door all the way. He turned to us and dropped his book.
His face contorted to horror.
Jeanette let go of her child's hand and stepped forward.
"Luc?" She called.
