A few days later we sat at the kitchen table talking. I was so happy. I just had to tell someone. The only someone I could tell was Indra. And he told Raign and Renata. This is hard; going through this without my family.

"So..." Indra started. He didn't say anything for a while.

"So?" I asked.

"We can't stay cooped up in the house. We're going to have to go out eventually." He said. I nodded.

"So what are we going to call you?"

I didn't really think that far ahead for once.

"Oh..." I said. "Maybe, Lucy?" I always thought it was a pretty name.

"After your mother." Indra said. I nodded. "It's beautiful. As long as you're happy." He said with a smile.

"Maybe we should go shopping. Get you some clothes."

"I'll deal with that." I want to test out this creation power.

I took Indra's hands.

"This'll work." I said. He blinked and nodded.

"What do I do to feed him?" I asked.

"Him?" Indra questioned. "It could be a girl you know."

I thought for a second.

"No. It's a boy."

Indra chuckled and nodded.

"Well, give him human food, and blood from his parents and humans have many nutrients. Will make him strong."

Parents blood? I have to drink my own blood? I looked down.

"It's okay. When you give your blood I'll mix in my blood. You won't taste your blood."

"Okay." I breathed.

I'm pregnant. With child. Bun in the oven. Can't believe this.

I rubbed my stomach.

"Do you want to start now? It'll be good to." Indra said.

I nodded. He stood and went to the cabinet. He pulled out an opaque cup and came back to me. I watched him cut into his wrist with his nail and bleed into the cup.

The sweet smell filled my nose. I grabbed the table, almost lunging.

"Easy. Resist. The baby is making you hungrier." Indra explained. Yeah I can tell. I tightened my grip on the table.

I could see the blood in the cup as it turned the outside of the cup dark; it was almost halfway full.

Indra let his cut heal and pushed the cup over to me.

I'm not comfortable with hurting myself. Vampire or not.

"Can you cut me?" I began to hold my hand out to Indra. He nodded and took my hand.

His nail dug into my wrist and I flinched.  Blood poured out. Indra stuck his finger in the cut, keeping it from healing. The blood filled the cup. Indra removed his finger and the cut healed. He took the cup and swirled it around, mixing the blood. It still smelled sweet. Indra set the cup down in front of me. I picked it up and took a sip. The sweetness was dulled. Tasted okay.

"Okay." I said. Indra tilted his head. "It's...okay." He nodded.

I drank again. The thick mixture smoothly going down my throat. It'll help him grow, be strong.

I'm a little thrown off by Indra watching me...

"Indra." I said after putting the cup down. He stared at me. "You gotta stop staring."
