And so we lay. The room is bathed in warm light. I turn my head to my husband. Like a baby in the morning, he is smiling. I smile. That was a genuine smile.

Luc brings his fists to his lips, blushing.

"What?" I laugh.

"You. So naughty." He said. I smiled and kissed him on the nose.

"Come on. Let's get up. We still need to talk to the family."

Luc sat up, "what could I possibly say to them?"

"That you're sorry. Show it too." I advised.

Luc nodded and got out of the bed. Sizzling sounded and two words appeared on his back. Luc cried out and bent over. I gasped, sitting up.

"Are you okay?" I scooted over to him and sat on my knees, touching his stomach.

"Yes..." He shuddered.

He looked at me, "Indra, what happens when my arms open? My stomach?"

"Oh..." I say quietly. "Well, as the words on your back come and heal quickly it'll probably go the same way."

"We just need to make sure you have enough blood in you."

He nodded and hugged me.

"Thank you. For always being here." He said. I rubbed his back.

We got dressed and ran to the family's house. When we got there they were eating breakfast.

Jeanette got up and approached us.

"Indra, please, is it over? We can't take anymore." Her eyes were red and puffy.

I nod, "it's all over."

"How do you all feel?" I asked.

"Strange. With that level of cold I think we should be dead." Jeanette said. We said nothing. "Guess not." She turned and left. She barely looked at Luc. We looked at each other.

"Give it time." I whispered.

He closed his eye for a second and nodded. I turned to the dining room. Kai was waddling over to us.

I stooped down and smiled with my arms out. He walked in between my legs and we hugged. I stood up with him turned to Luc. He put his hand on Kai's back.

"You look happy." He said.

I nodded.

"Let's go somewhere. Just the three of us." I said.

"Okay...where?"

I thought for a second.

"There's a park. Not far. Let's go there." Kai can run around and play. Luc nodded and left.

I told Jeanette and Brian where we were going and left.

We set down a blanket on the grass and sat down. Kai was waving around a piece of grass as he walked on the blanket.

I took out stacking blocks from our box of toys, "play with these." I read stacking and arranging helps with motor control.

Kai put the blade of grass in front of his Dad and sat down. He grabbed a cube and stacked it on another.

"Good job." I praised. "Can you do it again?" Kai picked up another cube and set it on top of the other two. I smiled. I looked at Luc. He stared with a soft gaze.

Kai stood up and waddled over to Luc. He sat with his legs crossed. Kai stepped into the space in between his legs and sat on his thigh. Luc held his arms out with a scared look.
