"I can't believe you talked me into doing this," Jo whimpers, holding into her seat tightly.

For someone who fights deadly monsters and has had her life on the line because of them multiple times, you're shocked she's scared of a silly little ride—the Tower of Terror. It's one of your favorite rides in Disneyland, and because you had a hunt not far from here, you had to spend a day in the park just to go on this ride. Bring on this ride gives you the thrill that comes with hunting but without the fear of death.

"Jo, it's going to be okay. I promise," you say and grab her hand.

"This isn't natural. Our bodies aren't meant for this kind of stress."

"Jo, I wouldn't let anything hurt you. You know this. It's like when a plane lands and you feel your stomach drop. Only it's a little more intense. I'm right here. Just think about us."

You kiss the back of her hand as soon as you get to the top of the tower. You feel bad for putting her through this, but you hope she realizes that it's not that bad. She knows you'd do nothing to put her in harm's way, even if it means being on this ride.
