Characters: Jack Kline x Reader, Sam, Dean, mentions of Castiel
Warnings: A lot of angst in the beginning but fluff at the end
Summary: Out of Team Free Will 2.0, Jack is the one who you have the strongest connection with. You hate being hurt in front of him but sometimes, it just can't be helped.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jack was still new to his emotions and you always tried to keep him happy. You didn't like being hurt in front of him since you knew it got him angry and then he would spaz out and his powers would go off. He often told you that he hated to see you hurt because then he thought about losing you and that made him really angry.
Your relationship with the Winchesters and Castiel was different than that of Jack's. You loved Sam and Dean like they were your own older brothers. You grew up with brothers before you started hunting and the Winchesters reminded you of them. They were still alive but you stopped talking to them because your line of work was very dangerous and you didn't want them getting hurt.
Castiel was more like a father figure in your life. You always looked up to him and asked for his advice and things like that. You knew you could trust him and when he told you to do something, you did it without questions asked. You trusted him with your life and he has yet to let you down.
Jack was different, he was something special to you. Sam, Dean and Castiel were special to you too but it was different with Jack. You connected with him more, like he understood you better than the other men. You had feelings for him and he knew this. You knew he liked you too but you always danced around the subject.
If you were to outright express your feelings for him, then things would be different. The way you hunted would change, the way you talked to him and people–or monsters– would notice the change which could be dangerous for the two of you.
You couldn't bear to put Jack in danger because of you so you kept quiet about your feelings. You knew one day you two would be together, but you didn't know when it would come. All you could do now, is wait for a better opportunity to show him how you really feel.
"Alright, you go with Sam and I'll take this one." Dean said when you three came to a fork in the road. There were three different ways you could go and there were three people on the job. You looked at Dean in confusion.
"No, I can go by myself. We have to get this guy before he escapes. Splitting up is the best way to go." You said as you walked to one of the openings leading further into the sewer system.
"Wait, fine. Sound travels fast through these walls so yell and we'll be there if you need us, okay?" Dean sighed. He didn't like it, but he knew you were right.
"Okay, same goes for you." You chuckled before tightening your grip on your gun that was loaded with silver bullets. Your silver knife was tucked away in your boot and your flashlight was in your other hand.
"Okay," Sam said before taking the middle lane. You nodded and took the right, inching your way down the smelly tunnel, all your senses on alert. Everything seemed to echo in here, even the rats crawling on the walls was loud enough. You knew you would be able to hear a person walking.
"Okay, where are you, you son of a bitch?" You muttered, your gun and flashlight trained in front of you.
"Turn around." You heard someone hiss. You turned around to face the stranger but a punch to the face sent you flying. You grunted in pain just as our gun and flashlight flew out of your hand. The shapeshifter in front of you snarled and pounced on you, trying to break you down. You dodged his attempts to hurt you before you lifted your knee and rammed it in his groin.
