Taking Things Slow

Summary: You and Jared haven't been dating that long and you both decided to take things slow. You feel that it's working pretty well for the two of you.

"Come on, where is it?" You asked yourself, tearing your apartment to shreds as you looked for your phone. You knew you had it on you while you were cooking but then you went to clean your room but then when you returned, it was gone.

"Did you take my phone?" You asked your one-year-old puppy who stared at you with his head tilted. You laughed and went to ruin your living room when you heard it ring. You scrambled to get it and saw it on the floor, underneath one of your floor pillows. You rolled your eyes and Lucas, your puppy, followed you with his tongue out of his mouth.

"You want to get that?" You asked him but he just barked in response. You chuckled and grabbed it, your whole face lighting up when you saw who was calling.

"Hello?" You answered the phone while laying on the floor where you found it. You tried not to sound out of breath.

"Are you okay? You sound a little out of breath." Jared Padalecki said on the other line.

"Oh yeah, you know, just tore up my whole house because I couldn't find my phone. It didn't help that Lucas just sat there and watched." You joked and he laughed. You loved hearing him laugh, it was a blessing.

"You know, you're always losing things." Jared teased you.

"Was there a reason you called, Padalecki?" You grinned just as you saw Lucas come into view. He put his paw on your face and you chuckled, pushing it away. You sat up, knowing he wanted something.

"Actually yes. I wanted to know if you were busy on Friday." He sounded nervous and that made your heart swell.

"Depends. You want to take me out?"

"Close. I wanted to have a movie night with you. How does that sound for a third date?" He chuckled.

"That actually sounds perfect. Work was hectic and I could use a night like that." You brought your knees up slightly and moved some hair behind your ear.

"So, is that a yes?"

"I think I can squeeze you in." You teased him.

"Okay. Does 7 work for you?"

"Perfect. I'll actually meet you at your house, okay? My apartment is a mess right now and is so not ready for company. But for our fourth date, we'll have it here." You said with a smile. Even after three dates, Jared hadn't been inside your apartment yet.

"Fourth date? We'll see how the third date goes." He teased you.

"Okay, I'm hanging up now." You said playfully.

"Okay, I'll see you on Friday." You could practically see the smile he was wearing.

"Of course. Bye."

"Bye." You hung up and had the biggest smile on your face. Lucas walked to you and placed himself between your legs.

"Well, it looks like Lucy is going to take care of you while I'm gone. I have a date this Friday." You grinned even though he didn't understand you. You shook your head and got up to fix your apartment. You and Jared have only been going out for a month.
