Around here, you're what's known as the screw up. Ever since Michael had taken over your world, you tried to follow his lead in everything. His morals, what he is doing wasn't right, and you tried so hard not to listen to him. However, you've seen what Michael does to rogue angels, and you were a survivor. The first chance you saw out of this world, you were going to take it. Killing humans wasn't okay, and Michael didn't see that. All he wanted was power, and he was very good at getting it.
"This time don't screw up," a higher up angel growled as he thrusted an angel blade into your hands.
"Yes, sir," you whispered, refusing to meet his eye. He glared as he passed on, handing out blades to every angel that was sent to kill a group of humans hiding out in the woods. After receiving your orders, you headed out with the other two angels that were set to accompany you. For some reason, you had the feeling they were only with you to babysit you.
Moving swiftly through the woods, you heard the chatter of humans that didn't know you were there, humans that had no right being dead. Michael wanted to kill all of them, but you'd be damned if you were going to let that happen. Before, this world was thriving, but Michael decided that it wasn't enough and disobeyed your father. He turned every angel against him, claiming he wanted a redo of perfect creatures.
Peering through the branches, you saw a dozen or so humans walking with guns and angel blades drawn. Whoever they were, they weren't from around here. Looking around, your eyes landed on a special boy who seemed more powerful than Michael himself. He definitely wasn't from around here as you saw some archangel in him, but only half-human.
Silently gasping, you realized that this boy was a Nephilim. Michael had forbidden angels from mating with humans because he knew that a Nephilim was strong enough to take him down. Why was he here, and what was with all the protection? Michael wanted you and the other angels to kill them, but something inside you told you not to.
Two men in the front, both extremely tall and muscular, one with long hair and the other with piercing green eyes, led the group further into the woods for some unknown reason. Where were they headed?
"What are you waiting for?" the angel to your left hissed in your ear.
"I can't do it," you whispered.
"Wait until Michael hears of this," he growled as he took out a machine gun. Michael must have given that to him because he knew that angel blades weren't going to be enough. The male angel aimed, and something in you yelled at you to take action.
"No!" you yelled, alerting everyone that you were there. Jumping out into the open, the humans got ready to fire at you, but you released your wings just as the angel started firing. The bullets hit your large wings instead of the humans, and the rest of the angels came out of hiding to deal with the rest. Jack's eyes went wide as he saw your wings flourish to their normal size, taking each hit from the bullets.
"Michael sent us to kill you. I can't let that happen. It's wrong what he is doing," you gasped at the pain spreading through your body.
"Come on, we need to go!" Dean yelled as the other people fought off the angels. One by one, they were killed, and the two angels that were with you realized just how outnumbered they were and fled, probably going to snitch on you.
Once the angel was gone, you fell to the ground as your wings started bleeding. Your feathers were scattered around you, but only Jack could see them.
"We can't leave her!" Jack said as he went to you to help.
"Michael is coming. I can feel him. Go, he'll kill you," you whispered painfully.
"Dean, please, she's hurt and tried to protect us. Please," Jack pleaded with the hunter. Dean stared at you before sighing deeply.
"Go, we'll catch up," he said to his brother as he walked over to you. Jack stepped away as the older brother scooped you up bridal style. Moaning out in pain you couldn't bend your wings to place them neatly on your back.
"It's okay, sweetheart. You're going to be fine," Dean muttered as he and the young boy raced to find the rest of their group. Once located, Dean rushed to the gold line in the air, and you knew it was a portal to another world. Everyone else but the two hunters and Jack went in first, and you looked up to see an army of Angels, including Michael, rush at the four of you.
"Hurry, he's coming!" you cried. Sam was the first one to go in, then Jack, and at the last second, Dean rushed through the closing portal with you. Michael cursed as it closed, pissed that you had gotten away.
"Hey, you okay?" Dean asked as he set you down.
"No, my wings," you winced as you landed on your feet.
"They're bloody and bruised," Jack said as he came forward. "I can try to heal them."
"Go with Jack, he'll be able to help you," Sam said, letting the half-angel take over. Walking with him, he took you to his room where the two of you could have some privacy. An angel's wings were very sensitive, delicate to the touch. The fact that they were hurt made it even worse.
"Thank you for back there, but you didn't have to do that," Jack said as you sat on his bed.
"They were going to kill all of you. My wings protected a lot of people," you sighed, dropping the veil so that your wings could now be seen by anyone who walked in. Most of your feathers were red as blood dripped down from them. Jack walked behind you before gently placing a hand on a few injured feathers. Immediately, you recoiled, your wing flickering away.
"It hurts, Jack," you whispered.
"I'll be delicate," he whispered as his eyes turned yellow. He lightly touched a bloody feather, using his powers to heal the wound. The more feathers he healed, the better you felt. Jack didn't get to heal all of them, but he healed enough.
"Thank you, Jack, I can do the rest," you said as you put the veil back up, concealing your wings.
"What's your name?"
"Y/N. My world wasn't so bad once. Michael wants power, and he took it the first chance he got it. I was never one for following the rules. I still love humans, the way my father intended for us too. It's why I saved you. But you're not human, are you?"
"Only half."
"If I go back, Michael will have me killed."
"Who said anything about going back?" Jack asked, making you look at him with a smile. Things were different in this universe, and you could make yourself a home here, as long as Jack was in it. He was light, he was good, and you needed a little light in your life.
