You've always found human behavior fascinating. You studied it in college with a degree in psychology and a minor in photography. You loved raw emotions and capturing it on camera was something you did best. You loved taking candid pictures because it's the purest form of human emotions. Some people were photogenic while others not so much but it was raw.
No filters, not hidden masks, just emotions. You didn't go up to people and ask to take their pictures otherwise it would be fake. No, you stayed in the background while taking pictures of people without them knowing. Yes, you know what that must sound like but you don't disrespect their privacy, you usually sit at the park and just observe humans.
You watch people live their lives and when you saw an opportunity for any kind of emotion, you would take it. You usually sat far away so when you pointed the camera at them, they wouldn't know it was them you were taking a picture of. You usually stick with humans but you did take a few pictures of dogs and other animals.
You've worked a few jobs taking pictures but they were for photoshoots and although it was money to pay your bills, it wasn't what you loved. You didn't know how to find a job that would pay you to take pictures of people who didn't know they were being photographed. It sounded a bit stalkery which is why you didn't tell people about it. You've had the cops called on you once or twice but as of right now, you were in the clear.
You sat at the local park in Vancouver where you were stationed mostly. You traveled to a few countries around the world to do this and right now, you were in Vancouver. Your main house was there while other small apartments were based around the world. Next to photography, you loved traveling which was perfect for this kind of thing. You wanted to open your own gallery one day and this was just another step closer to achieve your goal. You had an online blog that you posted the pictures on and if you were lucky, people would pay you to take a picture of something they wanted and they would buy it from you.
Your laptop was safely in your bag next to you along with a separate bag full of your camera equipment. You loved your cameras, they were like your children to you. You took very good care of them since they were your life. You were nothing without your cameras. You lifted the camera to your eye and looked through the lens at two people walking down the street. They were 2 girls and they were laughing at something on their phones. At the right moment, you captured the moment and looked at it on your screen. You smiled at the imperfections of their features. That is why you loved candid photography, you got all the imperfections that came along with their emotions. You hated photoshop because it wasn't real. This was.
You looked at your surroundings and saw a small child crying at a scraped knee and his mother trying to make it better. You lifted your camera and looked at them through the lens before zooming in on the child's face. You captured the photo and looked at it to make sure it was perfect. You did this for about an hour, picking the right moments to capture.
You never came to the park at the same time. You came at different times because there were different people. Usually, in the early mornings, you had the runners and the elderly walking. During rush hour, cars would speed by and people walked to work which made it busy. Then at lunchtime, you had the lunch breaks people took and so on. There was never a boring time to go to the park.
