(A/N: I want y'all to know that this book is slow when it comes to the progress of the characters because there is going to be a second book continuing Val's and Xavier's journey. Maybe a third book as well, we never know. So yeah, that's why the characters are slow in this book. That won't happen in the sequel though😉.)

*Xavier*

I enter the huge ball room where all the important and top people from the Italian Mafia of Italy are there.

They all are standing in a straight line like soldiers, each one of them having a gun, their hands in front of them together and a neutral face.

Looks like Valentina's personality has rubbed off on them.

The room is filled with light chatter here and there, because Valentina is not here yet.

I'm standing in the back-door of the ballroom which is why they can't see me because their backs are faced to me.

Enzo signals me to stand with him so I do as I say.

I don't know how things work here, so I have to try and do as they say because I want to live here.

Because of Valentina of course.

Even if I have to listen to people I don't want to.

I'm not used to obeying people, it's always has been other way around and I would like to keep it that way.

I, after all have a reputation to uphold.

I stand beside Enzo, waiting for their Queen to arrive.

Soon the door which I was standing against opens with a mild thud and their Queen walks in.

The second she stepped foot in the room all of them bowed down to her, no one daring to look up.

While Valentina (who has removed that godamn coat off of her) walked in with her head held high and a daring smirk on her beautiful face.

She reeks of arrogance and power with a little mix- no ok a lot of mix of cockiness.

As she reaches her postion, which is in front of the men on a stage, they all say their patent "Mia Regina" and as soon as Valentina signals them to get up the huge room is engulfed in silence.

"Spero che voi ragazzi vi stiate godendo le vostre vite elettrizzanti?" She speaks with a smirk on her face, although the smirk is anything bit playful.

I don't understand what she is saying, I only catch a few words because Italian and Spanish have a lot of common words.

But Valentina was very fluent so it was hard for me to understand them.

So I ordered Enzo to translate it for me and he hesitantly obliged.

I admire his loyalty.

Nobody answered her question, either because they were scared shitless or because they were confused.

Confused because why the fuck is their Queen asking about their lives?

Well so was I.
