I woke up to the sound of loud clangs which seem to have been coming from the kitchen. I looked around me to find Alice, Zayn, Liam and Harry still sleeping. I slowly lifted my blanket over and walked quietly towards the door, making sure I wasn't going to wake them up or step on anyone's legs or feet. I headed to the bathroom and fixed my hair up a bit, making sure I wouldn't look like a total wreck when greeting the boys. I walked down to the kitchen to find Niall and Louis cooking breakfast. Or more like burning breakfast.
"Black pancakes, yay!" I cheered in a sarcastic tone. They must not have heard me coming down as they jumped a bit when I spoke.
"Morning Mads, and for your information, they are not black, they're just... overcooked a bit.." Louis replied in a happy tone. Niall let out a little chuckle and I couldn't help but look at his smile. So perfect.
"Yeah, don't worry Lou. Maddy's just jealous of your skills," Niall said, sobering up a bit.
"What skills?" I challenged, raising my eyebrows a bit, "I'll take it from here. You guys can go fix yourselves up a bit. The bathroom's on the left."
"Excuse me, but this," he said, gesturing to his face, "does not need fixing, thank you very much," Louis replied in sassy tone.
"Well, Niall can go, and you will help me with the pancakes."
Niall then walked to off to the bathroom with a smirk on his face, trying not to take part in this one on one conversation between me and Louis.
"I believe it works the other way around. I will order you to do things," Louis retorted.
"My house, my rules."
"No."
"Yes."
"No."
"Yes."
"Fine."
We shot back at each other like it was scripted. Louis then looked around as if he was making sure no one could hear us and then started to speak.
"So, what's happening with you and Niall?" he said in a quiet, cheeky tone. This question made me hesitate a little and I don't even know why. Nothing was going on to be honest.
"What do you mean?" I asked, while flipping the pancakes over.
"Oh come on Mads. Don't play innocent with me. It's so obvious there's a little something going on. He offered to share his food with you!" he yelled whispered.
"He was just being nice," I answered, flipping the pancakes onto a new plate and pouring batter into the pan.
"You can soooo tell by the way he looks at you and the way you look back at him!"
I didn't want to have this conversation and luckily we were interrupted by Harry.
"Morning kiddies! Oh my god. Louis! How many times have I told you!? You can not cook pancakes!" Harry said in a cheerful tone.
"Boom," was all I said as I high fived Harry.
Harry then began to help me as Louis stomped off to the lounge room like a five year old.
Eventually, everyone woke up, came downstairs and was greeted by the smell of pancakes, thanks to me and Harry.
My phone vibrated with a text from my mum as Harry ordered Louis to do the dishes.
It read: We'll be back in half an hour, hope you had a fun time xx
I replied: Okay, and thanks, I did :) x
"Hey, Liam? Um, could you and Niall move the furniture back and pack everything away? My parents are coming back soon," I asked.
"Yeah, sure," he replied with a smile and the two of them headed to where they slept last night.
Alice and I went back into our rooms to get changed out of pajamas. I went into my bathroom and started stripping my clothes off. I took a quick shower and wrapped a towel around me and brushed my teeth. I then headed back to my bedroom. I put on my denim jeggings and a top and went back into my bathroom to do my makeup. I pulled a brush through my hair. My hair is light brown and reaches just above my belly button. It's not straight, but it's not wavy. I then began putting on my makeup. I applied some foundation, not too much so it looked fairly natural, and a few coats of mascara. I didn't bother putting on eyeliner as it would've looked a bit too done up, and my blue eyes naturally stood out anyway.
I went back into my room, checked my phone and found a text Katie.
It read: You have some explaining to do.
I replied: I know, I'll make it up to you, I promise. Meet me at Starbucks at 1pm and I'll explain everything? x
I slipped my phone into my pocket and went downstairs to find the five boys, Alice and my parents in the lounge room.
"... she won't mind," I heard my dad say to the boys as I walked in.
"Uh, hey, what's going on?" I asked as I sat down next to Alice.
"Oh, perfect timing love," my dad said, turning his gaze to mine and giving me a smile, "because of the whole studio incident, we won't be able to work there for the next two months. That means I'll be working home more, meaning the boys will have to come here to write and record their music with me and for this collaboration with Alice. You wouldn't mind them being around here more, would you?"
"Uh, yeah. Sure," was all I could say. Should I be happy? I don't know. Two months of them coming in and out, this should be interesting.
"Then it's settled," my dad replied with a smile, "we'll go out for dinner tomorrow night to talk more about this," he said to all of us.
Paul came about 10 minutes later to pick up the boys. After exchanging byes, I headed out to Starbucks.
I ordered my drink and sat down at one of the booths at the back. Then, I saw her walking towards me. Ugh, she's so stunning. Blonde hair, brown eyes, a slim figure and a smile that could get any guy she liked. Everyone loves her. Everyone wants her. And out of all people, she picked me to be her friend, and now, we're inseparable. She understood me like no one else and she was there for me when no one else was. She's my best friend.
"Katie," I greeted her as I stood up to give her a hug which she returned.
"Maddy!" she almost yelled as we sat back down, "what the hell happened last night?"
Before I could even string my sentences together, words were rolling of my tongue.
"I got a call from my mum, and you know the collaboration my sister is doing with One Direction?"
"Yeah."
"Well, they were at my house and dad's work got broken into so they couldn't come home yet. Alice didn't take her keys so I had to go back."
"Well that's stupid," she said in a lighter tone, "so what did you guys do?" she said, giving me a wink.
"Um, we watched a movie, went to Nando's then talked on the beach and they stayed at mine last night."
"Aw cute. So, do you fancy any of them?"
"Nah."
"I can see it in your eyes," she said making me look up at her, "you can't fool me."
The truth is I can't fool anyone. But I don't like Niall. Sure, he's cute, but I don't like him.
"I don't like them, okay? We're just friends."
"Whatever you say..." she said giving me a sly smile.
The rest of the conversations were about her birthday dinner and how the boys were coming over to work. She said that she'd want to come over and meet them one day, but I just had a feeling that, that wasn't going to turn out well. I do owe her, so I gave in. At least now, that gets me off the hook for missing her birthday.
