"This could take all day," my sister complained.
"I know," I agreed as I sipped my iced coffee. "The kid has everything."
"We're shopping more for ourselves than for Harry," she concluded as she scanned the bags next to us. It had been over two hours and we found nothing for Harry. Or maybe we weren't even looking properly. I don't know.
"You know what?"
"What?" she asked back as she fiddled the whipped cream with her spoon.
"Let's just take him out for dinner with the boys next week," I concluded.
"Yeah, but..." she trailed off, not finishing her sentence.
"But..?"
"Yeah, you're right. That's an easier idea," she agreed.
We finished our drinks, grabbed our bags and headed for the car park. That's when I saw her. She was talking to a shop owner. She looked different; different good. I wanted to talk to her. I needed to talk to her.
"Katie!" I yelled. A few people around us gave me a weird look but I just ignored them. She turned her head in my direction and hesitated a little. She gave me a sly smile and powered off in the opposite direction to me.
"Wai-" I started as I was about to go after her, but something was stopping me. I looked down at my arm and Alice was holding my wrist with a firm grip, holding me back.
"What do you think you're doing?!" she almost yelled, stilling holding onto my wrist. "You have to avoid her!"
"I know, but I need-"
"No buts!" she snapped. "She may seem normal on the outside, but you never know how dangerous she could actually be!"
I looked back to where Katie was and saw a whip of her gold hair before it disappeared, then back to Alice.
"Let's go," she pleaded, tugging my wrist in the direction of the car park

"Woah. A lot of bags," Zayn remarked as he looked at our bags as we sat on the couch opposite him. In my opinion, there weren't actually that many. Nine in total for the both is us.
"Awh, you guys got us gifts, you shouldn't have," Louis said as he walked out of the kitchen with an apple in his hand.
"Actually, we didn't," Alice corrected him.
"Knew you guys weren't that nice," Zayn stated. I shot him an annoyed face and he just bit his lip, holding back his smile.
"Okay, so, we didn't know what to buy you and we didn't find anything that we think you'd like, so we'll shout dinner next week."
"There's no need for that," Harry replied in a defensive tone.
"Yes, there is."

I fiddled with his thumbs, my eyes blankly staring out to the sea. My head was filled with a thousand thoughts, but at the same time, it was blank. We were sitting in silence, the only sound being the strong waves crashing onto the shore.
"I saw Katie today," I started after a few minutes of silence sitting on his lap while he had his arms around me and rested his chin on my shoulder. He took a short pause before he answered me.
"Did you talk to her?"
"I was going to, but Alice stopped me and Katie walked off."
"Good thing she did."
"Why though?" I asked as I turned my head to face him. "I don't get why I have to stay away from her."
"She's dangerous, Maddy. You never know what could happen," he replied.
"But I've been with her for the passed two years and she hasn't caused me any harm."
I felt defensive. She means a lot to me. She understands me more than anyone, and sometimes more than myself. She stood by my side ever since I moved schools. And to find out she's a psycho?
"I know she means a lot to you and I know that it's hard for you right now, but it's just not safe. You need to keep your distance. Why do you think she walked off? I just think it's better that you stay away from her."
I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to say. I wasn't in the mood to argue about this, especially with Niall. I just sat there in his lap, watching the waves crash onto the sand.
"C'mon, you need some rest."
I nodded in agreement. I hopped up off of him as he released me. I walked out of the cool night breeze and into the warm hallway, due to the heating. I headed for the boys' room, seeing as though we didn't need any privacy. The short chat we had left us in an awkward state and I didn't like it.
I entered the room and laid down next to Alice. I was expecting Niall to lay down next to me, but he didn't. Instead, he went and laid down next to Zayn. How did this happen? It was just a three minute conversation and now, it was ad if he was mad at me. But why?
"Is everything alright?" my sister asked as she watched Niall lay down next to Zayn.
"Um, yeah."
To be honest, I didn't even know what was going on and if everything was actually alright.
"What's up with Niall?" she asked as she cocked her head in his direction then back to me.
"I actually don't know. Ask him yourself."
"Mmm."
I slept next to Alice. It felt weird not to have his arms wrapped around me and for him not to kiss me good night. These little things haven't even lasted that long, but I didn't like it not happening. It was uncomfortable to not have him next to me and I really hope it's just temporary.
