I felt slightly uncomfortable about this. I was a bit nervous at the same time. I didn't want to not like this girl that Harry's with. I felt like I was Harry's mum or something, about to approve of his girlfriend, even though I actually have no say in who he can be with. I guess I'm just worried about whether Harry was serious about her or not or if she's the right girl for Harry. Harry's famous. Anyone would want to be with him. I just hope this girl can see pass his fame.
"How did they make up yesterday?" I asked Liam.
"Harry showed up and they had an awkward and short apologetic conversation and then things went back to normal."
"Ah."
The faint noise of footsteps sounded with every step getting louder and louder. Louis came downstairs and sat on the opposite couch. He looked a little stressed.
"Is everything okay?" I asked him.
"Yeah. I just don't really want to meet the girl, not that I can stand in between their relationship, but I doubt it's anything serious."
"It'll be alright. I'm sure she's a nice girl," Liam reassured him. His words were then followed by the sound of the main door opening. In the corner of my eye, I could see Liam standing up and walking to Harry and the girl while Louis and I stayed seated with our eyes locked on each other.
I could hear faint chatter between the three of them, but I wasn't able to pick out any words apart from a friendly, "hi, I'm Liam."
The clicking noise of her heels sounded as she walked towards Louis and I with Harry and Liam. I turned my head a little and saw a glimpse of her face, and a glimpse of her face was all I needed to have a panic attack. My palms broke out into immediate sweats and my heart rate increased by the second.
"Hi, I'm Emily. It's nice to meet you," that familiar voice greeted. Her words sent a cool breeze into the room, forming goosebumps down my spine. I tilted my head slightly and saw that she had her hand out, offering a handshake. I looked down for a few seconds, then back up to her hand, then to her face, then back down. My head was spinning with thoughts. I knew the three of them were staring at me. I swear I could've been looking at the ground for a few good minutes before someone spoke up.
"Maddy," Zayn's voice called from a distance. I looked up to see Zayn storming towards our direction. He took my arm and pulled me up off the couch. From there, I was secured by Niall's strong arms.
"Come upstairs. All of you. Now," Zayn ordered. "Except for the girl."
"What are you doing? What's wrong?" Harry asked, but he wasn't answered. The six of us ushered upstairs. My hands were trembly and thoughts were taking over my brain. We walked into the gaming room and the door was locked behind us. I slid down the wall next to the door and Niall sat down next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder while he wrapped an arm around me and pressed a firm kiss on my temple.
"What are you guys doing?" Harry asked urgently.
"What's the girls name?" Zayn asked, ignoring his question.
"Emily," he answered. That name sent another wave of cool air into the room. I looked to Niall and his eyes were alarmed.
"Her name's Katie," Zayn told him. Her name felt uncomfortable through my ears now. I admit, I'm scared of her now. "You have to get her out."
"What?! I have to get her out because she's lying about her name!? Why?" he asked.
There was no reply but I knew that Zayn and Niall's eyes were on me. Zayn knows part of the story, but Niall and I know the whole thing, and the whole thing is way worse.
