It was slightly emotional when my parents and sister left my new room. It's not like I wasn't going to see them forever, but I wouldn't be seeing them everyday. They said that I had to come home at least once or twice on a weekend in a month which I was okay about. And after tight hugs and sad kisses, they walked out the door and I was left alone in my new room.
So, basically, you walk through the door and there's a short hallway. On the left was a large sliding door closet with mirror doors and on the right was a door to the bathroom. The hallway lead to two king single beds, a plasma screen mounted onto the opposite wall and two large combined desks underneath. There was a small round table with two chairs near the long window panel. It gave enough sunlight, even if there really was no sun, to light up the room. It was big for college room I guess. It was better than I thought it would be.
I sat on the end of the bed closest to the door and dropped down to my bed. I stared at the ceiling that was painted a plain beige and reflected on this new life that I had just entered but not yet got into.
I tilted my head and gazed at the other bed. I really hope she's a good roommate. The last thing I'd want is to not get along with her and having to put up with her 24/7.
I sat back up, fixing my hair a bit. I was debating whether to stay in my room or to go out and meet new people, like my dad said. Even though I was desperately not wanting to go outside, I moved my big suitcase into the closet and put my bag on top. I closed the closet door and exited the room. I had to make a start sooner or later.

There were many clusters of people around and many idle people, including me. People didn't really notice me. They were too busy talking to the people they know and catching up and all that. People who did notice me gave me a smile in recognition which I returned. After a while, realizing I really had made no progress in meeting anyone, I headed back to my room.

I got lost on the way back, making the journey three times longer than it needed to be. I opened the door and found my roommate applying lipstick in the reflection of the mirror sliding door.
"Hi," I greeted.
She had long black wavy hair and brown eyes. She was quite stunning.
"Hi," she greeted back without looking at me. She then tilted her head to see me. "Oh," she said in a rude tone, "you."
She gave me a glare, raising her eyebrows and then dropping them.
"Sorry?" I asked, confused by her tone and rudeness.
"I'm going to get some fresh air," she told me bluntly. She didn't spare me another glance as she picked up her handbag from the other side of the room while I stood in my spot near the door. She walked passed me and the door was opened and then closed with a loud click.
Well, that was not how I imagined meeting my roommate to be like. So, we didn't even properly introduce ourselves and she hates me for some unknown reason. Great start.
I walked over to my bed and sat down, breathing a big sigh in annoyance of this horrible start. I felt nervous and already a bit homesick just by being here for half an hour. I brought out my phone and found a text from Niall.
Call me tonight x
I really couldn't wait until tonight to talk to him since at the moment, my roommate kind of walked out on me and I'm bored and alone. I laid down onto my bed and even though Niall's probably busy at the moment, I decided to call him. Just as I was about to hit call, I got a call from Georgie which made me a bit nervous. I answered it anyway.
