"I'm so stupid." Katy said, putting her palm to her head.

"You're not." Rihanna said, instantly.

"I am! I should've seen this coming months ago." Katy explained.

"Seen what coming?" Rihanna asked.

"She's too perfect. I'm too damaged. We could never be together happily." Katy replied.

"Cheryl is far from perfect, she's just as damaged as the rest of us." Rihanna said.

"Everyone loves her. She's never the bad guy in their eyes." Katy said, frustrated.

"That's just how she comes across. It doesn't mean it's true?" Rihanna suggested.

"Well she comes across pretty damn well then. If only they knew..." Katy said.

"If only." Rihanna replied.

After a few minutes of silent driving Rihanna pulled up to the hotel where she was staying.

"We can go home together, tomorrow if you like?" She offered.

Katy smiled, shyly. "Thank you." She said.

The pair got out and went into the hotel, and into the elevator.

"To top it all off, Ashley got stabbed last night." Katy said as Rihanna pressed the button for the floor she needed.

"Her ex Ashley?" Rihanna asked.

"Yep. Down the road from her house. I arrived yesterday and she was mid-fucking him." Katy replied, sighing by laughing slightly.

"Wow. You caught your girl mid-fucking her ex and you didn't stab that bitch? I would happily have done that for you." Rihanna laughed, as they got out of the elevator.

"She's not my girl though." Katy said, her tone suddenly dropping.

"Oh well. I always thought you were too good for her." Rihanna replied.

"That's just not true." Katy said, shaking her head.

When they reached Rihanna's room, they went inside and she poured them both some wine.

"It's nice to finally see you properly." Katy smiled.

"Yeah, when Cheryl isn't trying to beat me up." Rihanna laughed, half playful-half serious.

Katy shook her head slowly, laughing slightly.

"She's got a good punch, I'll give her that." Rihanna admitted.

"She's tougher than she looks." Katy said.

"No shit." Rihanna laughed, revealing a bruise on her stomach.

"She did that!?" Katy asked, delicately tracing the outline of the bruise with her fingers.

"That's nothing compared to this one." Rihanna said, turning around and revealing another large bruise on her back.

"God." Katy said, putting her hand to her mouth.

"I didn't know she'd had it in her." Rihanna admitted.

"She's hit me before." Katy said.

"What?" Rihanna said, concerned.

"Only a slap, but still." Katy replied.

"I wonder why she's so violent?" Rihanna pondered.

"I wouldn't call it violent." Katy said, suddenly defensive.

"Why do you still defend her?" Rihanna asked, frustratedly.

"She's not violent." Katy repeated.

"You're totally under her spell." Rihanna said.

"I'm not! I just don't like you saying that about her - that's all." Katy replied, looking down.

"You don't like me saying anything about her unless I'm kissing her ass." Rihanna said, bluntly.

"What can I say? I love the girl and she doesn't love me anymore. I can't instantly switch off my feelings just because I'm with you, I'm only human." Katy explained.

"You deserve better." Rihanna replied.

"Like what? You?" Katy said.

Silence fell upon the room.

"Why not? Why can't we make a go of it?" Rihanna said, moving her hand so she could caress Katy's leg.

"I don't love you!" Katy exclaimed.

"You can learn?" Rihanna said, lifting Katy's chin with her free hand and moving in for a kiss.

Katy leaned backwards. "No." She said, standing up.

"What are you doing?" Rihanna asked.

"I'm going to get my girl back." Katy replied.
