Cheryl stared at Katy staring at her lap, she couldn't find the words to say anything further.

"Look, I know it's-" Katy started, but Cheryl shook her head.

"No, don't. It's okay." Cheryl said.

Katy looked up at Cheryl, suddenly overridden with guilt.

"It was meaningless." She eventually said.

Cheryl rolled her eyes.

"It didn't stop you from doing it though, did it?" She asked.

Katy remained silent.

"We've not even been together a month and you've already cheated on us. What does that say about our future? Is there one?" She continued.

"I'm sorry." Katy murmured.

"The funny thing is, I've been hurt by this kind of thing way too many times before now to be hurting again. It's become habit to have me heart broken." Cheryl said.

Katy went to put her hand on Cheryl's thigh, but she brushed it away.

"No." Cheryl said, bluntly.

"I remember when Ashley cheated on us, and I said to him 'it better have been worth it Ashley, because it's just ended your marriage' I don't think he realised the damage he'd done until I said that." She snorted, shaking her head.

"I'm sorry." Katy repeated.

"So you've said." Cheryl replied, bitterly.

Silence surrounded them.

"Okay, you can go back inside." She said.

Katy nodded and got out of the car and went towards the door.

She opened it and walked inside.

She walked past Shannon on the sofa watching TV.

"I've ruined it." Katy said as she stood at the archway of the kitchen.

"Surprise surprise." Shannon replied, sarcastically.

Katy raised her eyebrows. "This isn't a joke." She said.

Shannon looked up.

"But who's fault is it? Remind me again of who told you not to see Rih?" She asked.

Katy fell silent as she continued to walk into the kitchen.

Just then, Cheryl walked through the front door. Her eye makeup was smudged and her hair was shoved in a messy bun.

She faked a smile as she walked past Shannon and towards the stairs.

"Cheryl?" Shannon called out, but she didn't answer.

She sat up and looked towards the stairs where Cheryl was traipsing up them.

She followed her up the stairs and to the landing on the second floor.

"What is it that's so wrong with me?" Cheryl asked, turning to face Shannon.

Her makeup was smudged even more than before.

Shannon reached out to hug her but Cheryl flinched.

"See, even you can't tell me." She said before returning to walk towards her bedroom.

Shannon watched her as she walked into her bedroom and closed the door, softly but passionately.

She returned downstairs and into the kitchen where Katy was sitting at the table.

"I hope you know what you've done to her." Shannon stated, bluntly.

Katy briefly looked up but returned to staring at the table.

"I do, I do." She muttered.

Shannon grabbed a chair and sat down, opposite Katy.

"Look at me." She demanded.

Katy looked up and rested her head on her hands.

"Rih doesn't love you. All she wanted to do was mess with your head and get a bit of publicity, you know exactly what she's like. Stop falling into her traps." Shannon said, reaching out to hold Katy's wrist.

"Shannon, I know she doesn't love me, I don't love her either. It's just..." Katy said.

"Just what?" Shannon provoked.

"I don't know why I did it." Katy said.

Shannon raised her eyebrows.

"You need to fix it. I'm going out for a few hours, when I get back I hope you've sorted something out." Shannon said, standing up.

"I mean it." She finished before leaving the room.
