**Note from the author** - the time has been moved forward a lot so the story can progress. -

*6 months later, December 1st*

Cheryl sat up and looked at the time. Her eyes widened as she turned over to wake Katy.

"IT'S DECEMBER! CHRISTMAS MONTH!" She squealed like an excited school girl.

Katy turned over and opened her eyes, seeing Cheryl's excited smile made her smile.

She leaned on her elbows and kissed Cheryl, smiling as she pulled away.

They had been living in LA at Katy's house for 5 months now, only occasionally visiting the UK to see Lily, but hadn't since Lily had died almost 2 months ago. The cancer was terminal and there was nothing the doctors could do about it, she was expected to live until Christmas but had died in October.

"Let's do something today? We both have some time off work." Cheryl suggested, sitting up straight but facing Katy.

Katy smiled. "Okay! Ideas?" She asked.

Cheryl got out of bed and looked out of the window.

It was cloudy but not raining.

"I haven't met your parents yet..." Cheryl said, still staring out of the window.

Katy shifted in her seat.

"The thing is-" Katy began, but Cheryl cut her off.

"No, don't worry. I understand." Cheryl finished.

"I would if it was just that simple! I would love to show you off, but I know they wouldn't see it that way." Katy replied.

Cheryl sighed.

Katy scowled. "It sucks that I feel that I have to hide you away from my parents? They're going to need to meet you some day... When we get married and all that!" Katy said, half playful - half serious.

Cheryl turned to face her. "Married?" She gasped.

Katy's eyes widened. "I was joking, don't-" She began, but Cheryl cut her off again.

"I quite like that thought." Cheryl whispered.

Katy giggled, unsurely.

"You would actually want to marry me, even after every thing?" Katy asked, on a more serious note.

Cheryl sat back down on the bed.

"Sure, why wouldn't I?" Cheryl replied. "I love you, and I can't see meself with anyone else, of course I want to commit to that." She added.

"But, I'm damaged." Katy murmured, shyly looking down at the bed.

"Me too." Cheryl replied.

Katy looked up at Cheryl and fluttered a smile.

"I don't know how lucky I am." She whispered.

"Me neither." Cheryl replied.

"We're going to see my parents today. I don't care what they think of me, or this, it's my relationship and my life." Katy said, with confidence.

Cheryl beamed. "If you're sure?" She said.

Katy nodded. "I am." She replied picking up her phone to dial her mom.

*Phone call with Mary.*

"Hi mom!" Katy said, cheerily.

"Oh hello Katheryn, darling, how are you?" Mary asked.

"I'm good. Me and Cheryl want to come and visit you today!" Katy said.

Silence suddenly entered the conversation.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Mary eventually replied.

"Yep. We'll be there at 2 o'clock." Katy said.

"Katheryn..." Mary said.

"No, we're coming. End of this conversation." Katy said, bluntly.

She put the phone down.

"Okay, get ready sweet cheeks, I'm taking you to meet the parents!" She said, smacking Cheryl's bum.
