Cheryl had stayed there that night, considering that maybe going back to the UK wasn't the best idea.

That morning, Katy got up, got in the shower and then dressed as she usually would and went downstairs.

She got to the bottom of the stairs and stood in shock.

Rihanna was sitting with Shannon, laughing and drinking tea.

"Katy!" Rihanna said, excitedly jumping to her feet.

"Keep your voice down!" Katy hissed.

Rihanna frowned.

"You need to go." Katy stated.

"Katy?" Shannon asked.

"She needs to go." Katy repeated.

She heard foot steps coming down the stairs.

"Oh great." She murmured.

Cheryl appeared at the bottom of the stairs.

"Oh, I didn't know we were expecting company." Cheryl said, bitterly.

"Neither did I." Katy said, shaking her head.

Cheryl walked towards them.

Rihanna smiled faintly at her.

Cheryl stayed blank faced.

"I should go." Rihanna said, picking up her bag.

"Yes, you should, you shouldn't have even been here in the first place." Cheryl replied, quickly.

"Excuse me?" Rihanna said, raising her eyebrows.

"Yes?" Cheryl answered.

"Who do you think you are? You've not long walked into Katy's life, you're already dictating it. I don't know what she sees in you." Rihanna spat.

"I've never known what she saw in you, so I guess that gives you and I one thing in common, ay?" Cheryl said.

"...And the fact we're both sleeping with her. Oops, you can't be that special if she still comes running back to me." Rihanna said, laughing snidely.

There was a short silence.

"Jealous are we?" Rihanna pressed.

Cheryl's eyes widened as she swung for Rihanna, causing her to clutch her face.

Rihanna went to hit her back, but Shannon and Katy managed to restrain her and lead her to the door.

"THIS ISN'T OVER YOU STUPID FUCKING BITCH, YOU JUST MESSED WITH THE WRONG PERSON!" Rihanna shouted, as she was forced out of the door.

Katy closed it behind her and locked it.

Cheryl was shaking with anger.

"Why does nothing ever go right?" She asked, rhetorically.

Katy and Shannon stood in silence, just watching as Cheryl began to cry.

She sat on the sofa in a heap, crying.

After a while of leaving her to it, Katy went over to her with a cup of coffee - just the way she liked it.

"Heyyyy... don't cry baby?" She said, in effort of comforting her.

Cheryl remained silent.

Katy rubbed her back, slowly.

"Lily would know what to do right now." Cheryl eventually stated, between tears.

"You're missing her, huh?" Katy said.

"Yes." Cheryl whispered.

"I wouldn't have made any of these mistakes if she was still here, she was me support system! She always kept me in line, ever since she d-died I've been falling and falling deeper into a pit of something I can't dig meself out of." She further explained.

Katy sat and listened, respectfully.

"Me sister too, she always knew what to do when I was rambling on, and wow - she's gone too." Cheryl said.

"Cheryl." Katy said supportively, not sure what else she could say.

"Don't you dare tell me it's all going to be okay - it's not. You lied last time, nothing was okay. It's never going to be okay again. I don't want this anymore." Cheryl said, beginning to raise her voice.

Katy shook her head in confusion.

"What!?" She asked.

"I can't do this anymore." Cheryl said.

Katy frowned.

Cheryl pulled a diamond ring out of her pocket and grabbed Katy's hand.

She pressed it firmly into her palm and closed it again.

"Katy. We're not right for eachother. Save this ring, save it for someone special - the right one. I'm so unbelievably sorry, but that's not me, I'm not your 'someone special' I'm not 'the one' I'm just Cheryl. That's all I ever can be, I'm sorry I couldn't be your one and only, I'm sorry I couldn't make you smile the way you used to smile, I'm sorry I fooled you into thinking this could ever work. You don't want to settle down with me, you couldn't. I'm not about to commit to someone that isn't ready to commit to me; and probably never will be ready. I love you Katy, I love you so much it hurts and if only you understood how much I wish this could work out, but it won't and it can't. This past week or so on the rocks has shown me we really aren't as strong as I thought we were, I can't see my future with you - I wish I could, but, I can't. You'll find that someone special, but that someone special just isn't me." She said, fighting back the tears.

Katy took the ring and stroked Cheryl's hand.

"I love you too." She whispered.
