3 days passed and there still wasn't much update to Rihanna's condition other than what Katy was told by the officer.

"I really think I should go see her?" Katy suggested.

Cheryl took another bite into her toast, avoiding what Katy had just said.

"...And I think you should come too." Katy added.

"No." Cheryl stated.

"Cheryl... Don't you want closure?" Katy asked.

"My ideal closure would be her as far away from us as possible." Cheryl spat.

"Cheryl." Katy said, lifting Cheryl's chin with her hand.

Cheryl moved Katy's hand back down, onto the table.

"Don't. You can't seriously think I'm going to come with you to see if you've killed your crazy ex-girlfriend or not?" Cheryl laughed.

Katy shuffled awkwardly in her seat.

"I'll go alone then." She replied.

"I guess you will. Don't try and guilt trip me, Katy." Cheryl said before standing up and taking her's and Katy's plates to the sink.

"I'll ask Shannon to come." Katy said.

"Ok." Cheryl said, not even turning around to look at her.

"Stop being so bitter." Katy said.

"Bitter? I'm being bitter!? You've got to be having a laugh. I'm not going anywhere near that hospital and for all I care - I hope she's dead." Cheryl replied.

"Woah. Okay. Sorry." Katy said, shaking her head.

"Go on then, call Shannon. Go to see her!" Cheryl exclaimed, turning back around to face the dishes and continue washing up.

"Why are you getting so worked up about this?" Katy asked, she couldn't leave the situation as it was.

"Because I am. That's how I am." Cheryl replied, bluntly.

"Then maybe it would do you some good to come with me? To the hospital?" Katy suggested.

"I'm not coming." Cheryl stated.

"God, you're so stubborn sometimes!" Katy exclaimed.

Cheryl ignored her.

Katy pulled her phone from the side, scrolled through her contacts until she reached Shannon. She called her.

"Hey?" Shannon said at one end of the phone.

"Hey! Erm... are you free today?" Katy asked.

"Yeah, why?" Shannon replied, puzzled.

"Would you be up for coming to see Rihanna in hospital with me?" Katy asked.

"Why?" Shannon said, bluntly.

"Cheryl won't. Look, please, come with me." Katy pleaded.

"I don't blame her. I don't know, Katy." Shannon replied.

"I thought you were my friend." Katy stated.

"I am your friend. Don't guilt trip me!" Shannon exclaimed.

Katy bit her lip.

"I need to speak you you." Katy said, lowering her voice.

"Go on then..." Shannon provoked.

"Not now. Come over and I will." Katy suggested.

"Katy." Shannon said sternly.

There was a short silence between them.

"Okay, I'll be 20 minutes." Shannon said as she finally gave in.

Katy smirked as she put the phone down.

"Is she coming with you then?" Cheryl called from the other room.

"Yeah, don't worry about me." Katy replied, slightly sarcastically.

Cheryl walked in and stood leaning over the kitchen worktop.

"I love you." Cheryl said, trying to catch eye contact with Katy.

"Do you?" Katy asked.

"You know I do!" Cheryl replied, reaching across the worktop and grabbing Katy's hand.

"Just, not, this..." She added.

"This?" Katy asked. "What's this?"

"Once this whole Rihanna thing is over, it'll be fine." Cheryl said, attempting to quickly end the conversation.

"Well I'm not in to mood to argue. I'm gonna go wait outside for Shannon." Katy said, sliding her hand away from Cheryl's and walking out the door.

She sat on the doorstep outside and put her head in her hands like a sulking child.

Cheryl sat down on the sofa inside and crossed her arms, again - parallel to a sulking child's actions.
