Never feeling like they belonged was a feeling that Lissa Dragomir lived with, even with her family and life long best friend, although they aided in that feeling not being so strong...

In the days leading up to Christmas day everything had been tense. Everyone avoided being alone with Tasha, until she cornered Kate and Dimitri during one of the training sessions and apologised for her actions, claiming "I've gotten so used to always falling back in bed with Dimka, that knowing he's married to someone made me act irrationally."
It had been a shit excuse but got her leniency, although said leniency was mainly given because she offered to host Christmas dinner at her Academy's guest quarters, which was close enough that they could all walk to it.
Christian had tried to argue against spending Christmas with his aunt, claiming that he and Lissa could eat lunch with her, but Kate had argued that they were a Family, and when Christian looked confused at her claim, Lissa explained.
"You're my boyfriend, your aunt is your family, therefore my family. Kate is my sister, therefore your sister, Dimitri is her boyfriend, and Viktoria is his sister, therefore also part of our family. Not to mention the fact that Kate and Dimitri have both filed a petition to formally adopt Alec, so he's your nephew."
"What about Mason?"
"Very lovable cousin, who is currently spending time with his mother." Kate had added.
Now here they were in Tasha guest quarters, which were more spacious than normal Moroi's Academy quarters. It was elegantly arranged with fresh winter flowers at the center of the dinning table.
Dimitri had his dark hair tied at the back of his neck, as though he'd actually tried to make it neat. He wore his usual jeans and leather boots, but instead of a T-shirt or thermal shirt, he had on a finely knit black sweater. It was just an ordinary sweater, nothing designer or expensive, but it added a touch of polish that hadn't been seen by anyone except Kate at the dance.
Kate was wearing a pair of jeans with one of Dimitri's sweaters and combat boots, with Alec wrapped to her chest, although he seemed much more awake from usual, her hair was in a ponytail and she had the bonus accessory of Dimitri's arm wrapped around her waist.
Alec was dressed in a sweater that was similar looking to Dimitri's with jeans as well, and tiny boots that had Kate fawning over how his feet were so tiny.
Lissa was wearing a winter green dress with black tights and a pair of cute flats, while Christian was dressed in all black with a green tie. Both of them seated by the fire with Christian whispering something in Lissa's ear that she smacked him in the stomach for.
Viktoria had decided to skip this event and instead annoy Eddie Castille, who was with his Dhampir family, which was surprisingly large and with a lot of Promised Guardians as well as students of other Academies.
