"Kate, you're here! Eddie did tell you." Lissa beamed, pulling Kate into her arms as soon as she was upright.

Kate hugged her back instinctively, narrowly keeping her eyes away from Dimitri and the other woman, not because of jealousy but because she was choosing to not jump to conclusions.

Dimitri's feet moved quickly, walking towards Kate, leaving the woman's hand hovering in the air, where she had been reaching to touch Alec. "Katerina." He breathed out, almost as if he hadn't said anything else all day.

The woman followed after Dimitri, a gentle scowl on her face as she approached, behind Dimitri.

Viktoria came running towards Kate, like a child to their mother, carelessly pushing past Dimitri, which allowed her to wrap her arms around Kate before Dimitri could even reach his girlfriend.

The look on the woman's face was almost priceless to Viktoria, who was still holding onto Kate. Kate kept one arm around Viktoria while still holding onto Lissa with the other, a confused but amused look on her face.

"Lady Ozera. Have you met my brother's wife? A bit young, but incredibly deadly. She saved Princess Dragomir several times, and has helped me out tremendously. Not to mention my brother can't keep his hands, eyes, lips and basically himself off her." Viktoria said loudly and almost with snark in her tone.

The woman, Lady Ozera, looked surprised with Viktoria's words, her eyes glanced down at Kate's hand, despite the fact that she knew that she wouldn't find a ring on her finger as Dhampirs rarely used jewellery except stud earrings.

Dimitri shot his sister a glare, before it morphed into an amused look that Lady Ozera couldn't see, he knew that Viktoria didn't like Lady Ozera. He knew no one in his family did, yet he hadn't expected Viktoria to introduce Kate as his wife.

"Wife?" Lady Ozera questioned, her tone slightly off pitch that betrayed her nonchalant face.

Kate opened her mouth to deny the title, trying to defuse the situation before it escalated, but Dimitri grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him, steading her before she crashed into Alec on his chest.

"Да, моя жена.(Yes, my wife.)" Dimitri said, keeping his eyes on Kate only, knowingly soothing every doubt that had been attempting to worm itself into Kate's mind since the moment that she saw them.

Viktoria's body sagged with relief that her brother was not stupid enough to fall for a Moroi's charm. Christian looked like he wanted to laugh at his aunt's features, but swallowed that want when she turned her blue eyes to his, silently questioning him about the fact that he didn't share this information with her.
