Ashlyn's POV
Unable to visit Salt Lake City for the 2 weeks, I missed everyone immensely. I expected Nevada would've gotten better by now, but it far from did. I kept getting bullied, and Jacob stopped talking to me. I don't think it was on purpose, we just weren't meant to be friends. My grades were slipping, and my mental health wasn't so hot either.
Towards the beginning of March, I finally had the chance to go back home. Well, Nevada was supposedly my home, but... it wasn't. My dad's work was finally calming down, and my mom wasn't busy this weekend either.
I tried very hard to keep it a secret from Big Red, though I found it near impossible. I managed, however, and on Friday night we drove home. I stopped by my house to drop off my things, said goodbye to my dad (who drove back), and greeted my mom. After talking to her for awhile, I walked to Big Red's house.
I knocked on the door. Big Red's dad answered the door. "Can I talk to him?" A huge smile grew on my face.
"Sure. Welcome back." He said. I walked in, then ran downstairs to Big Red's room.
"Who is it?" He asked before he could see me.
"Biggie!" I ran towards him, who stood up. Which was lucky for me, because I may have ran a little to fast.
"Ashlyn!" He lifted me up, before setting me back down. "I didn't know you were coming!"
"Exactly. It was a surprise." I hugged him again. "I missed you!"
"I missed you more." Big Red said. I doubted it was true, but let it slide.
"How are you?"
"I'm great, especially now. How're you?"
"Past few weeks haven't been good, but I'm great right now." I admitted. "Just wish I was here."
"Let's just make the best of it." He suggested.
"Trying to. But I don't wanna talk about that."
"That's alright." He held my hand. "Whatcha want to do?"
"Anything."
"Come on, no preference?"
"Not really." I said honestly. "I'm a bit hungry."
"What do you want?"
"Um... I really don't care."
"Just wanna grab some pizza at our place?" He asked, referring to his family's pizza restaurant.
"Sure."
