Big Red's POV

The next day, a Thursday, was fairly normal. That is, besides one thing. We were taking a break during theatre, and a girl came up to me. I had seen her around, but I didn't know anything about her, besides her name.

"Hi, I'm Felicity!" She greeted me, for reasons I was unsure of. Her hair was a light brown, straight and fairly long. She was pale and her eyes were blue.

"Hi, I'm—"

"Oh, I know! You're Big Red. I've seen you around." She smiled. "Speaking of which, if you ever want to hang out or anything... that sounds fun." Felicity smiled then walked away, baffling me.

The next 2 days were similar. Nothing very climactic would happen, besides Felicity. At this point, I had realized she was flirting. I tried to ignore it as best as I could without being rude. I didn't tell Ashlyn, because I figured it would die down soon enough.

Ashlyn came over on Sunday, after telling me she wanted to talk. Confused, I said I was free around 2. She showed up, exactly at 2. She rang the doorbell, and I opened the door to her pacing back and forth.

"You okay Ash?" I asked her, causing her to freeze in her tracks.

"Yeah." She turned to me. "Where should we do this?"

"What is this?" I asked her, completely lost.

"Oh, right. Just... where do you want to talk?"

"Uh..." I led her to my room, both of us sitting down. "What is it?"

"I..." She started. "No, never mind. It can wait."

"Can it? You seem extremely nervous."

"About 5 days..." I heard Ashlyn mutter under her breath as she looked at her fidgeting hands. "Maybe I could wait a day or two..."

"You can tell me now. Sounds like you should."

She looked up at me. "I... don't want to..."

"Then I mean... don't, I guess."

"But I should..." Ashlyn mumbled. "I- I'm mov—" She cut herself off, burying her face in her hands, but I knew what she was saying.

"Ashlyn..." I wrapped my arms around her. "It's alright..." I tried to assure her, though I doubt it sounded very reassuring, because I probably sounded miserable.

"But it's not!"

"It will be..."

"I- I... maybe." Ashlyn turned around to fully face me, hugging me back.

"We'll figure it out."

"Yeah." She nodded. "Yeah, of course."

"When do you leave?"

"Wednesday."

I nodded, sighing. "Okay. When did you find out?"

"Uh... last Wednesday."

"Oh. That was a fair few days ago."

"Yeah. Sorry." Ashlyn apologized, hugging me tighter.

"As long as you know you can talk to me, it's fine."

"I know. It just feels more real now."

"Yeah." I nodded. "I love you. We'll make this work."
