Big Red's POV

"Why are you so moody today?" I asked Madeline, who was somehow even ruder than usual.

"Why do you need to know?"

"We live together and I'm curious." I shrugged. "I'm not forcing you to tell me."

"Jackson and I broke up." She told me.

"Oh. I'm sorry." I said. Sure, she was obnoxious, but I wasn't going to be as low as she was most of the time. And I was sorry, heartbreak hurts.

"Yeah."

"Um—" I pulled out my phone, which was ringing. "See you later." I said, walking to my room. I picked up the phone. "What's up babe?"

"Not much, you?"

"Me neither. How are you?"

"Meh." She shrugged. "Mostly fine, but, you know... Jackson."

"Hasn't stopped?" I sighed.

"Not yet."

"Can you tell anyone?" I wondered.

"I don't know. It's not like it's even that bad."

"He's bullying you."

"It's still not that bad."

"Tell someone." I said.

"I'm just not sure who to tell."

"Teacher?"

"I guess. We'll see. Maybe I just... talk to him?"

"So long as your careful." I nodded.

"I will be."

"Okay."

"You don't believe me." She guessed.

"No, babe, I trust you I just don't trust him. If he knocks you over when you're in the middle of the hallway, what's he gonna do if you go out of your way to talk?"

"And now I'm more nervous." She sighed.

"Can I come?"

"That'd be nice, yeah."

"Thanks." I smiled slightly. "Tomorrow?"

"That's probably best."

"Yeah."

"I've gotta do a bit of homework and I kinda wanna get a good night of sleep, night Biggie."

"G'night love." I hung up.
