Ashlyn's POV

Ignoring Madeline and Felicity, I managed to make it through the week. Monday came again after a great weekend. I'd be lying if I said I spent much of it with anyone but Big Red.

"Good morning!" Big Red said as he caught up to me. We were walking to school together.

"Morning." I smiled. "How are you?"

"Alright, and you?" He smiled in return.

"Fine." I briefly stopped walking to kiss his cheek, then continued to walk. "What do you have today?"

"Uh... nothing." He shrugged. "Besides school."

"Wanna hang out?"

"Sure." Big Red nodded.

"Why do you like him?" Felicity asked me, following me on the way to class.

"Why do you?" I asked. "He's not interested! You've hardly talked to him."

"But I've seen him talk to others! He's really cute and nice—"

"Those are the only adjectives to describe him you know, aren't they? You wouldn't know how hilarious and cheerful he is, or how reliable and accepting he is. He's respectful, he's sensitive, he's sometimes kinda dumb, which is adorable. Yeah, he's cute and nice. Let it go." I ranted, aggravated. "We love each other."

"Yeah... I know." Without another word, she left. Was that it? Would she stop flirting with him, or asking me questions?

Big Red and I were hanging out around 4. We were mostly talking, with a random romcom in the background. The two of us were halfway lying down, our feet touching, occasionally resulting in us playfully kicking each other.

"This movie's so dumb. That's not realistic." I said.

"You sound like Ricky about musicals a year ago."

"Yeah, well at least the same things don't happen in every musical. Romcoms are just: They meet, fall in love, most likely despite the fact they don't think they have much in common, have some communication issues, then get married."

"Fair. But there's some good ones." Big Red said. "I mean, probably. I don't know."

I laughed. "Are you into romcoms?"

"Maybe." He grinned.

"Weirdo." I sat up and kissed his cheek.

"I'm not the one breaking out into song."

"You love it when I do it." I said.

"Well, you're you." He responded. I blushed slightly, not saying anything else and watching the movie again. A few minutes later, I spoke.

"I told you. He's gonna propose."

"Yep."

"I mean, I guess they're cute together." I shrugged, trying to keep the conversation going, because the thought that had just popped into my mind would otherwise distract me. I hope we have that someday. I was only 15. But I do love him...

"Yeah, they're alright." He agreed.

"Mhm." I awkwardly nodded. Not as good as us. Why can't I stop thinking about the future?

"We're better." Big Red said, as if he was reading my mind. We both sat up and cuddled, smiling as the movie ended.
