Few weeks later he was back home, mentally exhausted. Taking few days off from everything, just to recover and spend time with Sam and Willow. Didn't even answer his phone. After that they got everything done at the house, had dinner with his dad, Ronnie called to his brother Anthony. Sam watched him talking to him, walking around the garden, smiling and nodding to his brother. He always took time to call his brother. She always felt sad that they lived in another state, making it harder to stay in touch. Ronnie had planned to visit him, so he could meet Sam and Willow. She felt glad. Everything good in Ronnie's life made her happy for him. It melted her heart seeing him smiling, his guard down. He really needed that. To feel completely free and safe, to talk from his heart without being scorned or confronted. His brother was just it, the person whom he'd tell about things. About the things he wanted to have an honest and neutral opinion. Sam knew she was too close to have that.

"We're definitely gonna visit them in the near future." he said coming in the house.

"How is he doing? How's the fam?" Sam asked.

"They're doing pretty good." he said, smiling calm.

"I'm glad." Sam said and added excited "Can't wait to meet them."

"Me too." he said putting his hands on her hips "It's been a while."

"As soon as I'm done with the promo and get things running here." he said in thoughts.

Few weeks later he was done and took time to visit his brother. He had stared Sam as she was packing their things for the trip.

"They'll love you." he said out of the blue.

"What?" Sam looked at him surprised.

"Weren't you just thinking that?" he asked and stood up.

"Something like that.." she chuckled and let him turn her to stand in front of him so he could look in her eyes.

"I want you to listen to me very carefully." he said serious, making her bit alarmed. "Okay." she said cautious.

"You've loved me when even I couldn't. You've been there and taken care of me when I even didn't deserve it." he said serious "You've pulled me back from the dark and kept me on surface. Your love kept me on surface. And Willow..." he breathe out "You're my everything." Sam looked at him, feeling overwhelmed and nodded, tears in her eyes.

"I love you." he said truthfully and added joking "Whoever doesn't accept you can fuck off!"

"Even if it's your brother?" she asked unsure.

"I doubt that, but... yes. If it would come to that, unlikely , but still..." he said confused. He knew his brother would accept her, but she had a curious mind and he knew he had to answer something.

"Okay." she said frisky and continued like nothing happened.

"Okay..." he said surprised and confused, looking at her gather some things from the dresser.

"Do you want to take these along?" she asked about some accessories, dragging him out of his thoughts.

"Um.. Yeah, sure." he said looking at the things "This black one." He sat on the bed, still thinking about the conversation. Would he turn his back on Anthony? For her? He reminded her relationship with her parents, the way she was alone when she needed them the most. Just because her father couldn't accept him. She had chosen him over and over again, dealing with the consequences, the humiliation, the loneliness, the guilt her father and ,of course, that asshole Robert had thrown on her. The shit the media threw on her. And there she was.. Always taking care of him, always having his back, since day one. He reminded how they met, the way he had felt every time they went back to that shitty bar. The way she had made him confused at first, then intrigued, fascinated, challenged, compelled. The way he had ignored the chicks on his side. The way he downed his drinks faster so he could go and buy some more, just to interact with her. He remembered how they had had sex on the roof, him being so compelled by her that he forgot to think about the protection. The 'outcome' from that. Sam's gift to him. The reason he decided to fight for everything. His little princess. He would forever choose them. He let out a chuckle, realizing that he indeed would choose her. Always. Forever. He felt cold sweat on his forehead, thinking about those things.

"Sam?" he asked with a shivering voice.

"Yeah?" she answered without looking at him, concentrated on the clothes. He took a deep breath, feeling his pulse pounding behind his eyes. She glanced at him, pulling him out of his moments.

"Um.." he breathe out, realizing he had held his breath "Do you know um... where my um..." he thought, looking around "Where my other earpods are?" She looked at her confused, knowing it wasn't what he wanted to ask. He stood up and took his earpods out of his pockets "I think these are damaged." he felt like he needed to explain.

"Um... I put them to charge after my evening run." she said still confused but brushed it off "Bring them to me."

"Sure." he went to fetch them, damning himself on the way. He was certain what he wanted. But was too coward to ask it. Soon..., he thought, feeling the chills again.

The flight was bearable, Willow was being the sweetest kid, sitting on their lap, looking out of the window, playing with her toys or eating some snacks. Ronnie and Sam enjoyed each others company, drinking cold mocktail, talking about random things. He could see she was excited to meet his brother, but also a bit nervous so he had to assure her that he'll love her. Just like his father had accepted her before he did. Without her asking for it. He just had found her and got to know her. She was that easy to love.
