She looked out of the window the whole way home. It seemed that he didn't mind the silence. He already had said too much.
She momentarily felt happier when she saw her mom walking Willow in her baby stroller.
"I guess I'll see you around then?" she asked opening the door.
"Yeah." he said serious, stepping out of the car. She was bit surprised but continued walking towards her mom.
"Hi mom." she said and lowered herself to check Willow.
"Back so soon." she said cheerfully.
"Yeah, um.. I need to go." Ronnie said hesitatingly and checked on Willow. "See you soon, my princess." he whispered, smiling to her. Then he stood straight and looked at Sam who was avoiding his eyes, holding back tears.

"Alright then.." he said disappointed and walked away, saying to Sandra "Thanks for the time."

"Anytime, Ronnie." Sandra smiled to him but then looked at Sam, concerned. She had turned to look at his back.

"What's wrong?" she asked concerned, seeing tears running down her cheeks. Sam shook her head "I can't." she let out few sobs and continued "It's like every time I feel like we're making progress, something happens and we're back to square one."

"Oh Sam, I'm so sorry." she said sad "What happened?" They went for a walk around the block.

"We went to the beach and talked about things. It really went well. I showed him pictures." Sam told "He even shed a tear, mom."

"He can be sweet if he wants to." Sandra said and Sam nodded, smiling sad "Yeah mom, he really can. I really like it, a lot." she made eyes to emphasize the last word.

"But then he saw pictures with me and Robert and lost it." she said bit annoyed.

"Oh..." mom said.

"Yeah." Sam said "He was so jealous. Mom, you know me... You saw me... I would never..."

"I know babygirl. I know." Sandra said putting her arm around Sams shoulder and said "As much as we tried." Sam nodded "I hated it."

She took a deep breath "I just wish he'd see this too."

"He will. Give him some time. He'll come around."her mom said squeezing Sam's shoulder gently.

"You think?" Sam asked hopefully.

"He'd be stupid if he wouldn't." Sandra joked, making Sam chuckle and wiped her eyes "Yeah, maybe."

"But you have to be patient with him. He has so much to deal with." Sandra said compassionate.

Sam chuckled.

"What's so funny?" Sandra asked.

"You being all Team Radke when some time ago you were against him." Sam explained.

"I have never been against him. I just didn't know him." Sandra said "Now I do, sort of."

"Yeah, I feel the same way, but I feel like it's the tip of the iceberg." Sam said thoughtfully "But it consoles me that he wants me to come to his therapy."

"He said that?" Sandra was surprised. Sam nodded, distracted by Willow waking up.

"Well, then you should go and figure things out, together." Sandra cooed to Willow.

"Yeah, well, he needs to calm down first." Sam said emotionlessly and they walked back home.
