Next weeks were hard on them. Ronnie had to deal with the legal stuff the arrest caused. Also the shitstorm that was in the media and smoothing things out with the tour manager and his agent, meaning he posted an official apology to the ones that got injured. He spent a lot of time in the studio with the guys and went to therapy. Sam also went with him few times. They talked about their relationship, their point of views, their feelings, problems with Sam's father, clearing things out between them. Ronnie knew that they'd be going to tour again and by that time, he would have to get his shit together. Meaning, deal with his emotions, get help, avoid situations that could get him arrested or him hurting someone he loves.

They had slowed down with their relationship, him sensing that on her behalf. But he wasn't surprised that she wanted to be careful, to keep her feelings safe. He was surprised she was sticking around in the first place. He found himself often thinking that if he were her, he would have fled long time ago. That recognition about her made him love her even more. Made him ignore his dirty thoughts about her, endure the hard-on he often had. To his torture, they met and hanged together often. He could see that she enjoyed his company, without a doubt. The way she blushed and laughed. The way she genuinely cared about him, the way she cuddled in his arms at random moments, the way she never asked for anything but honesty and respect, love and friendship. She never got tired of hearing his stories, hearing him sing to Willow or play the piano at his place. And him always eager to give her all of that and more. If she could've let him, he would have brought the world to her on a silver platter.

They moved on with their plan to smooth things out with Sam's family. She and her mom had planned a dinner with only her and Willow, so he could get to know his granddaughter.

"Make sure you call me as soon as you're out of there." he said nervous, standing at her apartment door.

"I will." she said to him calm. Despite her voice and her holding his arms, she could see he was anxious.

"I'm going to be fine." she reassured him.

"What if ...What if he hates her, or scares her." he was uncertain, scared to put his precious little daughter through possible heartbreak and rejection.

"He wont." she said confident and hugged him "Relax, babe."

"I fucking can't!" he said desperate "I'm about to send my kid to someone to see if she is loved or not." He took a deep breath and said bitter "I know what that feels like. No kids should feel that way. It fucks you up!"

"I know, babe. I know." she calmed him and pulled away from the hug, looking into his eyes "She is loved. By you and me. My mom and your dad loves her." Ronnie nodded, in thoughts.

"Okay then." she said and said louder, trying to have his attention "Hey! I love you." Those words made him smile and forget about his anxiousness.

"I love you, Sam." he said and kissed her. He pulled away and looked at the side where Willow was in her play pen "Have fun at grannies, little one."

"Bye." he said and kissed her again.

"Bye." she replied.

After he left, Sam started to get ready for the dinner. Nothing fancy, but still different attire. She put on a dress for Willow and her, adding a headband with a bow for Willow. She grabbed her bag and Willows diaper bag and closed the door.

She listened some of Ronnie's songs in the car. Something she had a habit of doing since the beginning of time. It calmed her, made Willow get used to his voice being a normal part of her life.

Plus she really liked his music. Ronnie was indeed a remarkable musician.

She parked the car and took Willow out, saying to her "Here we go, baby. Lets see granny and grandpa."

She walked towards the house, taking deep breaths when her mom opened the door, greeting them.

"Hi, sweetheart." she said to Sam and took Willow "Let me help you."

"Thanks mom." she said smiling nervous. They went in and she put away the bags while her mother held Willow for her.

"Where's dad?" Sam asked.

"Reading in his office." she said and gave Willow back to Sam. She smiled nervously and walked to his home office, knocking on the door before opening it.

"Hey dad." she said walking in.

"Samantha." he said without any emotions, barely looking at her.

"How are you?" she asked without knowing where to begin.

"I'm doing fine." he said looking something at the newspaper "What brings you here?"

"I.. We've missed you." she said sad, confused. Her dad looked up for a second and then resumed to his newspaper. She stood there, feeling like crying. Suddenly Willow made a demanding sound, like she had enough of his ignorance. Like trying to say 'Granddad, look, I'm here!'

"Why are you like this, dad?" she asked sad.

"It's your bad decisions that led us here." he said bitter when Sandra came to ask them at the table. Sam nodded and said to Willow "Lets go eat, little one."

They sat down, Sam's father following suit. Few minutes they served themselves food on their plates and took few bites, everybody feeling extra weird.

"I know I've made mistakes." Sam started, feeling so mistreated. But she knew she had to start somewhere.

"Sleeping with that drug addict criminal was a mistake." he snapped. Hearing that felt like someone sliced her chest open and stabbed her heart. She was sad, but most of all angry-feeling herself fuming. She would have wanted to punch the table over and shout to him all kinds of things but this was not the way to do it. She squeezed the napkin in her hand, trying to calm herself and said calmer "We are not here to discuss Ronnie's life. Yes, I, made a mistake, I'm only a human, but so is he."

"Don't you start telling me what kind of saint he is! I read the news!" he snapped making Sam flinch. Sandra squeezed his hand for him to calm down and listen. Sam took a deep breath.

"Today is not about him." Sam said and looked at Willow "Whether you like it or not, you have a granddaughter. And she needs her grandpa." Her dad was in thoughts, cutting a bite from his steak.

"You know, Robert was a good guy." he said "He really wanted to be with you despite your slip," he pointed on Willow ",but instead you let this bandit come and ruin your life again."
Slip, she thought hurt, trying to swallow her anger. She needed to tell him things before she'd lose it.

"I didn't love Robert. I could've never..." she said with despise but couldn't finish her sentence, her dad cut her off "You should've given him more time!" and said realizing "Instead you threw him on the side as soon as this lowlife appeared. This Ronnie has his hooks so deep in you."

"You know, this lowlife is trying to get his life together, had to learn it the hard way" she said almost crying "He was never loved by his mother, neither his dad gave a flying fuck at that time. And that's a lot to handle for a kid. He'd do what ever it takes to give his daughter a better life than he had. He has his faults, but who the fuck hasn't!" she breathe out, letting the tears fall "He has such a big heart.." she remembered the day he asked her to come along to buy things for the homeless. "But you don't know that because you read the fucking news! People are.. literally saying shit about him, assuming, sending death threats to his home!" Her mother looked at her shocked, so Sam said "Yes! Death threats! because he saw someone shoot somebody dead and couldn't do anything!" She stood up and said "I am so sorry that I've disappointed you. I am SO sorry that I love him from the bottom of my heart. And I am so sorry  he hoped that you wouldn't abandon Willow because of him." She looked at her mother and said through tears "I'm sorry mom, I really tried." and took Willow, sobbing.

"Sam!" Sandra said following her but she wouldn't listen. Sandra stood in place and turned to look at her husband "Look what you did!"

Sam grabbed her bags and rushed to her car with Willow. She wanted to get away from them. To go to him as quick as possible. She needed to feel him close to survive this heartbreak.

Another chapter filled with sadness and heartbreak. I'm sorry. At least it's not Ronnie and Sam who are arguing. They are comfortably in each others arms...soon. She needs to get there first🤭
Thanks for the love.
