Chapter Thirteen

Hikaru's Pov

Myself, Lloyd and Sensei Garmadon were by now out in the mountains where Sensei was trying Lloyd a bit more to understand balance, and well, step in for his brother. "We underestimate the importance of balance. When it's there, we're at peace. If something is off, everything falls." Sensei said just as he placed another rock on top of the...many other ones Lloyd was holding. This lesson was strictly for Lloyd to help him find his balance if he hadn't already. "Ninjago is no different. It put too much faith in technology, allowing the Overlord to return." I had started to tune them out as I was wanting to have a moment to meditate, but was immediately brought back to my senses when I heard Lloyd let out a scream. I glanced over to see him knock the rocks that were covering him, off and spun for a minute before he stopped and looked at his father. "Oh yeah??" I raised an eyebrow as I was lost on what they were discussing. I stood up and jumped down from where I was, following Sensei's example as he pointed to the mountain in front of us. "And this one looks particularly steep." Oh. This was gonna be a long day.

Sora's Pov

It had been a while since we had shut off the power to New Ninjago City, and we didn't even think of a way to get back so Jay suggested we stop by his parent's dump. A literal dump. Well that was the first I've heard about it anyway, I didn't know much about his parents after all. We were building something we could use from scratch so we had to find the parts to make it, but I had no idea what it looked like. I wasn't an mechanic so I had no idea what to look for and I'm sure Cole and Kai didn't know what to look for either. Nya was inside the camper with Edna, Jay's mother, Zane and the lifeless body of Pixal. It was sad to see how much Zane cared about her and to see her basically well, die, it hurt him. She fixed him up and risked her life to help him...and us. She did so much after Zane got her out of the Overlord's control. It was sweet in a way with how Zane wanted to help her and keep her safe.

Myself however, I had distanced myself from Cole and Nya. Ever since we had left New Ninjago city after seeing Mr. Borg, Nya had...found interest in Cole it seems. I found it odd as she's never really...let's say noticed him until now? She would wait until it was just the two of them when she would say nice things to him, such as when we were travelling to the outskirts of New Ninjago city to shut off the power. We had all left the room for a few minutes but when we had returned, they were holding hands. Kai and Jay were even confused and shocked to see that, but the two had let go of the other's hand almost immediately when they realized we were there.

It hurt me in a way to see Cole actually...interested in her. I mean yeah Nya's a great person but...I, myself had been well...interested in him. I always found myself smiling when I was around him, but if Nya had made him happy, then so be it. I wasn't going to fight with someone over a guy. I just wanted both of them to be happy. It was as if the others could notice my change as I used to always be near Cole, but now I tried to avoid him as much as possible just in case it was just nothing, but one thing came to mind. Didn't Nya love Jay? Weren't they a thing at one point? I wanted to speak with Nya about all of this, but I was also unsure. I had almost spoken with her about it before, but she would just stutter and avoid the topic of the two boys or really...anything that could somehow lead to the topic of them.
