Chapter Thirty-One

Hikaru's Pov

We had been flying for a long time now that I had lost track of how long exactly, but it was finally day as the sun was coming up. We must've been flying all night to get to where we were now. It did take about a day's trip by ferry to get to the island so I wouldn't doubt it. "Chen and his anacondrai army have a day's start on us. Be prepared for anything and everything." Lloyd instructed as he looked over towards Kai. Sensei Garmadon was riding with Lloyd as he was an anacondrai now, as Skylor was riding with Kai in the same situation. Her powers were taken from her so she couldn't do anything to help herself change back to look human. I felt guilty that this is what it had come down to. It was wrong of her father to use her powers like he did. She was his own daughter and he didn't care!

"How did we lose so much time?" Kai asked, but was interrupted by Darreth who was riding with Zane. "You know, you took an oath never to leave a man behind." But of course, the self proclaimed brown ninja was right. He had a point. We weren't going to leave anyone behind. "And we're not all quick learners." Jay added as Nya was riding with him. I'm sure he was ecstatic at the moment with her riding with him and not my brother. I don't know why but it still felt slightly odd to call Cole my brother now, but he was still technically my brother. "Mastering your fear to create elemental dragons takes time." He added before he looked back ahead of us. Sora sighed as he shook his head. "Well, we're running out of time! We're already at Ninjago City!" He exclaimed. Nya nodded as she exclaimed. "We have to hurry!"

(Quick a/n: I know he says 'power dragons' here but that just doesn't sound right to me so I'm going with elemental dragons as that's what they actually are.)

""Hurry" is my middle name. Hyah!" Turner shouted as he urged his dragon to go faster- which it did. His dragon of course was the fastest one out of all of our dragons as he was the master of speed. We all followed after him as I glanced at Lloyd before speaking what he was probably thinking. "Everyone just remember that whatever happens down there- we're stronger united." Lloyd nodded to what I had said and added. "We fight as one!" Jay grew excited as he shouted. "Let's do this!" Urging his dragon to dive down and fly right above the streets of Ninjago City. The rest of us followed in his tracks. With just a glance below, I could tell the citizens were excited as they saw so many dragons- most likely already assuming it was us as we had been gone for some time now.

I landed on a rooftop as everyone else landed around the area, Kai landing on the street. Just as he did that however, a woman noticed Skylor and immediately shouted. "Serpentine!!!" Causing everyone around us to run away and hide in fear. I felt bad for them. They were mistreated! They helped us and the citizens of the city! I chose to keep my thoughts to myself however as I looked at my comrades. "I wish I still had the power to change." Skylor said as she covered her face with her hands. I felt bad for her as now she was being mistreated- well more like being misjudged as she hasn't even done anything to the citizens to show she was evil. She was on our side!

Kai turned to her as he said. "You have changed. You're with us now." It was sweet of him to be there for her even though he didn't know her that well, and before I could even tease him, an elderly woman honked the horn. "Could you be a dear and move your dragon?" She asked as she was in front of Kai's dragon's legs. His dragon had moved it's legs immediately to allow the woman to get by, looking at her as she drove by. "Thank you, young man." The elderly woman thanked as she drove off. Well, I suppose that relieved some tension.
