Chapter Thirty-Six

Sora's Pov

"Take positions!" I heard Sensei Wu exclaim to the other ninja as a visor on the Bounty had opened up for them to jump out and join me. We all watched as Morro flew around on his dragon as if taunting us. I gritted my teeth as I tried to take control of the wind, but was struggling as he was in full control— the universe only allowed one person to wield an element and clearly he was the one. "I give you this much, that ninja never quits." Cole said as he looked at all of us. I shot a glare at him as I turned back to Morro, trying to channel all of my strength to take control of the wind. His dragon shot a green blast our way as Zane quickly shouted. "Port side!" Nya immediately reacted as she turned the Bounty just in time for us to miss the blast. I stared at the dragon as I continued to try and build up some sort of energy in me as Jay ran to the cannon and shot at him. I need to do something!

"Ugh! Let me get this straight, you're just telling us now that you had another pupil before us, and his cursed spirit has possessed Lloyd and has taken Hikaru hostage so he can take your staff?" Jay practically shouted just as we missed another blast thanks to Nya's flying. Sensei held onto his hat as he stated. "Morro won't stop until he gets what he's after. There's a secret message engraved on it. All these years, I had no idea." Jay threw his hands up into the air as he said sarcastically. "Of course! Just another day in Ninjago!" I shook my head at him as I turned to see Morro flying next to us. "If this is as fast as the Bounty goes, I think we're in for some serious trouble." Cole said, watching as I just managed to send a weaker blast towards Morro, causing him to fly away and soon over us.

Morro cackled as he jumped off his dragon which disappeared the moment he left it. He pulled out twin blades that I had no idea where they came from. I didn't even see him holding any weapons! I gritted my teeth as I glared at him. "I need ink and parchment to make an imprint to see what's on the staff." Sensei Wu informed us, causing Zane to turn to him. "Kai and I will take you to our quarters while Jay, Cole and Sora will keep him busy." Zane explained as the three of them ran off almost immediately. "Oh, that's honorable of you to nominate us." Cole replied sarcastically as Jay added. "Yeah, we didn't fare so hot last time. Why is it you get off with the easy task?" He asked as Sensei and Kai jumped down into the lower part of the Bounty. Zane turned to us and pointed to his head. "Because I'm the intelligent one." Then joined the other two into the lower Bounty. I rolled my eyes as I pulled the sword off my back, along with the other two. "Let's take this guy. He pisses me off." I seethed under my breath. Cole turned to me and frowned. "I have an idea. Think you can tap into your full potential? If you can do that for me, then maybe you can take care of him for us. And just know, I believe in you." Cole told me as he ran off to join Jay as they charged at Morro. Did he just?

I stood in place as I stared at my friends and boyfriend attacking Morro. I wasn't doing a thing. I was just a stupid bystander, but I didn't wish to be. I've only tapped into my full potential once and that was a long time ago, I wasn't sure if I could even do it again. When he sent the Bounty falling out of the sky and my friends off the side, I did snap however. I gritted my teeth as I felt wind swirl around me and used it to stabilize the Bounty as Nya struggled to pull it up. I didn't care where he was at right now. I wanted to make sure my family didn't get hurt falling off this ship. Morro had sent a blast earlier to the mechanics of the Bounty, causing it to go out of control, considering that the Bounty refused to listen to me, it was a bit of a trouble to keep it steady. Soon enough, I lost my concentration and the Bounty was sent aiming towards a mountain. No, no, no, no! I tried my best to gain control over the wind again but didn't have much strength as Nya activated the boosters and we just barely hit the top of the mountains. We almost made it! The rest of the ride was bumpy as we tried our best to aim for a safe landing, but the Bounty was out of commission now. We could only brace ourselves for a crash landing as we fell into a forest below.
