Chapter Thirty

Hikaru's Pov

Once we were done with our little reunion, we went straight back to work. Lloyd didn't want me to do much as I was still regaining my powers from them basically going into overdrive when I got them back. Due to the poison, it took a lot of my powers to deal with it, especially since it only affected me because of my blood. That was one thing I hated about where I came from and who I was related to, but I couldn't help that or stop it as I had no control over it. The others insisted it was okay for me to sit down for a few minutes to make sure I was fully or at least mostly recovered before I got back into action, as any minute now we would get back to fighting or searching at least for Chen, Clouse and Skylor. I felt bad for Kai as he had grown to like Skylor, and I heard in the end she had gone against her father to help us. I didn't really like her as she was the master of amber...but maybe that wasn't a bad thing now. I was just more hesitant as to what she could do with my powers. There was no telling what, but I trust her now.

"Sink the ferry! No one's getting off this island!" Jay shouted and I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow. "Uh, Jay? How are we gonna get off the island then?" But I was ignored as he just exclaimed. "We're unstoppable!" I sighed and shook my head as I watched the master of nature use vines to pull the ferry underwater. I sighed and stood up, making my way over to the others. Lloyd was the first to notice me as he walked over to me almost immediately and wrapped an arm around my waist as if I would fall at any moment. I didn't  stop him though, and no one questioned it as they knew I was almost recovered at least. Did anyone even tell the others that me and Lloyd were a thing now? Then again, when I think about it, it might be better to wait on that as now wasn't the time, so I was glad no one asked about it.

"The palace and sleeping quarters are clear. Still no sign of Chen and Clouse." Cole said, to which Anna nodded. "Somehow they covered their scent well, so I can't track them unless we find footprints." She informed us, causing me to frown. They even knew to cover themselves so Anna couldn't even find them? Kai frowned and looked at the two as he asked. "What about Skylor?" It was clear in his voice that he was worried about her. "She wasn't able to pick her family, but she was able to pick her friends." Lloyd told him as he set his free hand on Kai's shoulder. Jay did the same as they tried cheering the red ninja up. Lloyd soon smiled at him as he added. "And since you're her friend, that means so are we. We'll find her." The rest of us nodded with a smile as Sora chimed in beside his boyfriend. "He's right, y'know. There's no way off the island so it's only a matter of time."

Sensei Garmadon had caught our attention by this time as he walked over to us all with a smile on his face. "I'm proud of you all. You've done what the original Elemental Masters never could: stick together." That caused us to smile at him as he continued. "But you must not rest on your laurels, for your guard is down when you sleep." We all nodded and went to meet up with Nya who was working on some of the mechs that we found on the island so we could use them if we ever needed them, such as now. She was just giving us an update when Turner had run over. I had forgotten that he could be here in a blink of an eye to the point it startled me- and normally I wasn't easily startled.

"Chen figured out Skylor's powers can finish the spell! She's in danger!" He exclaimed and Sensei Garmadon narrowed his eyes. "He's replaced his elemental staff with the elements in his daughter." This had anger boiling inside of me. This was no way to treat your daughter! Kai stepped forward worriedly as he asked. "Where?" Turner looked at the red ninja and said. "Other side of the island." Kai turned around immediately and ran over to one of the buggies as he said. "I'm going after her!" Sensei Garmadon nodded as he said. "We all are." As he looked at us as he threw out orders. "Jay, Zane, you take the mech and buggy." The two of them went to their positions and drove off. "Cole and I will take the Roto Jet."  He started walking past me and Lloyd. "Lloyd, you've got your dragon and Hikaru, I want you to go with him." He told us, to which I nodded. "Nya, how fast will she go?" He asked the samurai who got into her own vehicle. "Fast enough." She told him as he nodded. "Sora, go with her. Emara and Anna I want you to take another buggy. Everyone else stay and guard the camp. Let's get a move on."
