Day 1: Sticky Pickles

With a sigh leaving your mouth, you knock against the door. You didn't have to wait more than few seconds before the door opens to reveal your one and only mother. You give her no smile while greeting. Her probation period ended last month. Everything is still very awkward and distant, but you do visit her from time to time to check up on her. ''Hey.''

''Oh, Y/n!'' She expectantly comes forward with a smile. You weren't blind to notice how much she was putting effort to fix what was already broken. Your relationship with her had many faults, and you don't even know if it was possible to fix it.

Jimin was waiting for you in the car. You didn't insist on him joining you because he always made it very clear that he will have nothing to do with your parent. He refused to even try and you respected his decision.

Even for you, barely any feelings is left towards your mother. Everything you are showing now is simply the responsibility you have as a daughter. ''I will hold this!'' Mrs Kang takes the bag from you.

''How have you been? Do you need anything?'' You ask. All her houses, cars and business were on hold at the moment since the corruption within her business still being investigated and are more or less captivated by the law. Which is why, you arranged a small, manageable apartment for her to live in. At first, she complained a lot but soon yielded to her situation.

''No, of course not. My daughter is getting married soon-''

''Don't talk about that, please. I-I...'' You close your eyes to take a breath. ''You cannot attend the wedding. I have told you many times. I don't want to disrespect Jimin and his family.'' You sternly speak. You can see the hurt look in her eyes. She wasn't the only one who was breaking, your insides ached as well. As much as you want to, you cannot deny the attachment you hold for her.

But, you knew better than to be emotional. You needed to punish her for her wrongdoings. Parents aren't the only ones obligated to discipline, if the situation demands, children can also take the necessary measure to control their parents.

''Y/n.''

''Mum.'' You glared. Seeing her out of words, you get up. ''Call me if you need anything. I am getting late.'' You end before exiting the place.

You almost run to the car. Wanting not just to run away from your mother, but also the responsibility and attachment you held for her.

''Y/n, what's wrong?'' Jimin asks when you enter the car. You quickly shake your head, calming your vigorous breathing down. Your heart paced, giving out tensed feelings. Guilt was choking your insides while recalling the look on your mother's face.

''Nothing! I am fine!''

''I am not blind, Y/n. You're not fine. What happened?'' He leans closer to cup your cheeks. Your eyes find his dark brown ones. You probably would've succeeded in hiding your real emotions but not after looking at him. Lashes fluttering close, and lips trembling, your eyes gave out its pleads of emotions.

Jimin's chest heaves up in concern. With an urgency in his tone, ''What's wrong? Did anything happen? Did she say something to you?!'' His concern turns to anger. ''I knew she would do-''

He was about to get out of the car but you halt his movement quickly, ''NO! She didn't do anything! I promise!''

You pull him back inside, only to cave into his arm. You only asked for his arms, but the boyfriend of yours gives the full access to his body. He pulls you in by holding your waist and situate you on his lap. Finally, he pulls you into a snuggle, allowing you to draw your face into the crook of his neck.
