Mommy?

The small boy walked over and signaled to be picked up by putting his hands up in the air. Reaching down you picked him up resting him against your hip. He had long jet-black hair, and dark black eyes, he looked just like Sasuke did when he was this young.

"Mommy!!" the child squealed wrapping his tiny arms around your neck. You were not sure how to react, this couldn't be real right? This house wasn't familiar, neither were these children but something felt true about it.

"How was your walk Dear?" Itachi said rising from the ground and walking towards you.

"My walk?" you asked confused. He looked at you and playfully shook his head.

"Did you fall and hit your head or something?" he laughed "You left about an hour ago to take your daily walk through the forest."

"Oh, that walk, yes I enjoyed it very much. I think I must've gotten too much sun though" You said trying to hide how lost you were in this situation. He took the small boy from your arms placing him gently on the floor and ushered both children out of the room.

"Mommy needs a few minutes, go play and be quiet" he said sliding the door shut behind them. "Come here and rest Baby Bird" he sat down on a small couch patting the seat next to him. You walked over sitting next to him, leaning your back against his chest, he wrapped his arms across your chest holding you tight.

Everything felt so real, the hardness of his chest against you, the slow beating of his heart, his smell, the sound of birds outside. All of this made you feel so relaxed but something was still off, you couldn't explain why but it felt like a dream.

"Am I dreaming Itachi?" you quietly asked.

"If you're dreaming I hope you never wake up, because this is everything I've ever wanted" he rested his chin on top of your head happily sighing with a smile.

"Is this our house?" you asked. Your question worried him so he adjusted himself to be able to see your face. He wrested his wrist against your forehead feeling for a fever.

"You really must've gotten too much sun, you're not making any sense love. Just close your eyes and rest here with me for awhile, maybe things will be clearer after you've had a nap." He pulled you back against his chest, stroking your hair with his hand trying to lull you to sleep. Deciding a nap would be nice you closed your eyes, slowly slipping off to sleep.

(Switch to Kakashi)

Kakashi's group were making fast time to the last place you had been seen. He didn't want to admit how worried he was, even with knowing who took you he couldn't stand the thought of you not being with him. He pushed himself to run faster, needing to find you.

"Were almost there" pakkun called out. He had been leading the group towards the spot where the altercation took place. He abruptly stopped raising a paw and the group quickly followed suite. He had his nose pressed to the ground sniffing wildly "Yep this is the spot. This is where I found here talking to them, that means we ran this way" he said taking off in a sprint again. Everyone turned on their heels following him. A few minutes later he stopped, sniffing again "This where she left me and then she ran this way" he darted to left. Kakashi was right next to him, searching for clues to where you had been or where you were now.

His eyes caught something stuck into the ground up ahead, when he reached it he noticed they were kunai stuck into the ground. "She was here, and it looks like she wasn't alone" he stated. The group split off searching the ground for any signs of you. Kakashi pulled the two kunai from the ground slipping them into the pouch that held his. He walked forward towards the fallen log, finding a footprint, he hopped over it searching for more.

He dropped to his knees feeling as if the air had been knocked from his body. Gai ran over to see what had happened, he dropped down next to him, running his hand across the ground in front of Kakashi. There were obvious signs of a struggle and that someone had hit the ground, a few strands of your hair were stuck in the shallow mud. Pakkun walked up next to the two of them and cleared his throat.

"I know this looks bad, but at least it means she is alive. If she were dead, they would've just left her body here right?" Pakkun suggested trying to lighten the situation. Kakashi was close to the edge of losing it, he gripped his thighs hard trying to hold back the tears that threatened to escape. He took several deep breaths to steady himself.

"Can you track her smell from here?" Kakashi asked, his voice was raspy and filled with anxiety.

"I might need some help" Pakkun suggested.

He nodded in understanding doing a few quick hand gestures, he bit his thumb and smacked his palm against the ground "Summoning Jutsu". A large puff of smoke appeared, when it cleared the additional 7 Ninja Hounds were in its place.

"We need to find (y/n), this is the last place she was, split up and search for her sent" Pakkun barked out the orders and the dogs vanished, scattering into the forest in search of any sign of you. It didn't take long for one of them to howl out that they had found something, Kakashi launched to his feet running towards the sound.

He spotted Akino a few yards away and hurried up next to him. "What did you find?" he asked kneeling down beside him.

"I caught her scent here" Akino said nudging the ground, he lifted his paw and pointed in the northern direction "It leads that way" he explained.

Kakashi signaled the rest of his group and the hounds to his location. "Okay Akino found her scent and they were headed this way" he motioned in that direction. "Let's take to the trees and spread out, Pakkun spread the hounds out and stay on her trail. We need to be fast and make up lost time, lets go" he jumped up into a nearby tree and disappeared into the foliage, hopping from branch to branch at the speed of lightning.

(Back to you)

You awoke and stretched out your arms, releasing a loud yawn. Looking around you were confused once again, this time the surrounding was a dark damp cave like structure. It smelled of wet earth, and was so quiet you could hear the sound of your own heartbeat echoing from the walls back to you. You tried standing to your feet but then noticed your feet were tied together. Panic began to set in, you grabbed at the rope trying to quickly untie it.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" Kisame said stepping out of the shadows. "It seems we need to have a talk, maybe you can explain to me why Itachi didn't kill you? I'm sure you can understand my confusion, he murdered his entire family after all." he laughed, a scary shark like grin spreading across his lips. "Lucky for us he had to step away, so start talking" his smile changed into something more sinister and he pulled the sword from his back placing the tip of it into the dirt.
