My Sensei or the guy nextdoor (Kakashi)

Chapter 5

" So how was your mission" Genma asked while he walked you home. "Heard you guys ran into some trouble, Naruto wont shutup about it" he said with a laugh.

"Well then you already know how it went even though I'm sure Naruto made it sound much more dramatic" you said jokingly.

"Well he said that you did a really cool jutsu but then passed out so I was worried about you" he said shrugging and looked away.

"Awe you big softy!" You teased bumping his hip with yours. You were surprised he cared enough to come look for you. You studied his face, he was obviously embarrassed that he had admitted he was worried about you, his cheeks had a heavy blush. You'd never noticed before but he was pretty handsome, he had the cute boy nextdoor look and that's all you've ever thought about him, but now he was a man and you couldn't help but take that in.  He felt you staring and finally looked back at you.

"Geez stare much" he said, now you were blushing!  You had arrived to your house and took everything in. He started unpacking the bags and put everything away in either the fridge or the cabinets. You put the flowers in vases and sat one on the kitchen table and took one to your bedroom. Once everything was set you came back downstairs where Genma was waiting.

"I wanted to see if you wanted to go to lunch with me" he stated a bit stiffly. "Like a date, I'll pay of course" he half smiled and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well I'd expect you to pay if it's a date" you teased. You thought for a second, "sure let's do it! Just dont be weird, okay?". You had been friends for so long and not once has he asked you out, everything was a bit odd but your an open minded person so why not. Plus all the great love stories are about bestfriends falling in love!

You followed Genma out, locking the door behind you. The two of you walked and talked some about the mission and what he had done while you were gone. Not sure what to do on an actual date you held the inner part of his bicep while you walked, felt like the right thing to do. You could feel his muscle slightly flex at your touch, you could tell he was strong. The chit chat only stopped once you got to Ichiraku Ramen.  You both sat at the counter and ordered. You ate and talked and laughed, it was one of the most fun times you've had in a long time. Several bowls of ramen later the both of you were stuffed and decided to walk some of the food off.

"I could help you train" he blurted. "Not that you need training or anything, I just could help you spar if you want.."

"That would actually be great, but just know I wont take it easy on you. When can we start?" Excitement in your voice.

"I'm not doing anything now" he stated while rubbing the back of his neck.

"Let's do it! Last one to the training ground is a loser!"  You shouted, you dropped to the ground swinging your leg out and kicking his legs out from underneath him and took off in a dead sprint towards the training field team 7 usually practiced at.

It didnt take long for Genma to get back to his feet and take off after you. He was faster than you expected, hearing his footsteps gaining on you, you pushed yourself into a harder sprint. It was suddenly quiet behind you, you didnt dare turn around for fear of losing speed. Closing your eyes you focused your hearing to see if you could sense him. You heard a near by tree rustle and WHAM you were tackled to the ground. Mid fall he flipped you towards him and the two of you came to a rolling stop him landing on top pinning you to the ground.

"First lesson of your training, a cheater never wins" he said with a half smile. He was breathing hard, but his eyes were so focused on yours. He reached up and took the toothpick from his mouth, leaned in slowly, lips only inches apart. "Can I kiss you?"

You were surprised by his question, noone has ever asked first. Looking into his eyes you could see the admiration, the friendship, the love. You barely got the word yes out before his mouth was on yours. Gentle at first, his lips were soft and warm, his breath smelled of ramen and mint. The kiss deepened, sliding a hand behind your head to pull you closer, his tongue lightly touched your lips, which parted in response. Not sure how long you laid there kissing but when he finally pulled away the both of you were short of breath, cheeks flushed, body tingling.

"Wow" he spoke in such a breathy way it made your heart start racing again. "I've wanted to do that for so long. Ever since we became friends I've liked you, but with everything that happened with your family I never felt like it was the right time to tell you. And then when I joined the academy and passed  my days were filled with training and missions and then you started training and doing missions. I felt like it was finely time to tell you though, your honestly so beautiful and soon enough men will swarm towards you. Just wanted to shoot my shot before it was too late." His confession just poured from his mouth, spilling his feelings out.

You did love him but in a friend way. Could you learn to love him differently? His confession had warmed your heart but this was uncharted territory. Needing to think this out, you decided to get him back on the track of training. Pulling your legs in towards your chest you pushed him off in one swift move and then landing on your feet you winked and turned off into a dead sprint to the field, barely crossing the border before he had caught up.

"I win, which means first lesson of training for you, is dont let your guard down" with a wink you started laughing.

"Fine fine you win, but you'll soon learn how I am in battle and you wont win there." Face stern, confidence dripping from his words.

He jumped towards you kunai drawn, you reacted quick enough to avoid but barely, it was obvious he wasnt going to hold back.
