My Sensei or the guy nextdoor (Kakashi)

Chapter 42

After the run in with Naruto you made your way home to finish the rest of the welcome home preparations. Inside was decorated simply with a few streamers and balloons, the table and countertops were covered with food and there was a giant pot of ramen broth on the stove. Genma and Kakashi had been busy outside hanging lights up from the trees and setting up a few fun games for the guests to play. Luckily Sakura had come by earlier and taken the boys out for a walk so you could finish the last of the decorations without their tiny fingers pulling at them.

"We're all done" Genma said as both of them came back inside.

"Perfect, just in time!" you said excited.

"I'm back" Sakura called out as she opened the front door. The sound of tiny footsteps came pounding down the hall towards the kitchen.

"Daddy!" Yuki yelled out as he nearly slid around the corner. He ran awkwardly towards Kakashi launching himself at his leg, he was quick to scoop the child up.

"Yuki!" Kakashi said in happy response. Sakaki walked into the kitchen much slower than his brother but made a straight line towards you.

"Mommy...." He called out in his quiet shy tone.

"Ah there is my sweet baby" you said smiling and lifting him into your arms. It really was shocking how different the twins were, Yuki was very vibrant, smiley and outgoing while Sakaki was more shy and quiet. They were a lot alike at the same time though, they learned their words at the same time, learned to walk within minutes of each other and have always been on the same sleep schedule.

"It looks great in here y/n" Sakura said, she had walked in a few steps behind the boys looking rather worn out.

"Thank you Sakura, did the boys give you any trouble?" you asked. She quickly stood up straighter and put a big smile on her face.

"Of course not!" she said.

"You don't have to lie to me, I know they can be a handful" you chuckled lightly shaking your head.

"They were honestly fine, I promise" she said still holding her fake smile.

*Knock knock*

"Well it looks like the guests are starting to arrive, will you take the boys outside while I let everyone inside" You asked as you handed Sakaki to Genma.

"You've got it" he said taking him into his arms.

It took about thirty minutes until everyone but the guest of honor had arrived. No-one was surprised by this since Naruto was regularly late. You made your way out to the back yard to join the party, several people were playing yard games you had setup while others were sitting around talking. Having spotted Asuma and Shikamaru in an intense game of shogi you decided to make your way over.

"Asuma why don't you let the boy win just once?" you teased as you walked up beside the two of them. Shika looked very frustrated as he always did when playing against his Sensei.

"What's the fun in that? He gets too close to beating me now as is" Asuma said with a deep chuckle. "Why don't you have a seat and you can play him for me?" he asked patting his leg.

"That's a good way to get us both in trouble" you laughed playfully smacking his shoulder.

"What a drag" Shika said rolling his eyes at your playful banter.

The sound of flapping wings pulled your attention away, your eyes instantly darted around in the darkened sky for it. That's when you spotted a large beautiful crow circling over head and disappearing to the side of the house. Without a word you left the guys and headed into the house towards the window the bird had flown to. You flung the window open looking for the bird but couldn't find it, traveling through the house you opened every window hoping to catch a glimpse of the big beautiful bird but it couldn't be found.
