Asher's POV
I am trying my best to be nice to her but I just can't help myself to hold a grudge against her. She's a Royal living in my house and that was something I never imagined off. I have always told myself to never trust them though I know she might never betray me since after I encounter hearing her talking with a guard. It's just kind of speaks the truth for itself. If she was a spy, the guards would not be looking for her.
and indeed the news of the princess missing is everywhere. I'm not sure if she knows but everyone has been talking about it. Even Issac and Victoria were just talking about it when I woke up. I was honestly not tired too, I woke up not long ago too. I could just have spent time with scarlet downstairs but I didn't want any of that.
It's like I have two sides of me. I have a soft spot and the other is just telling me that I shouldn't be close to her. It's honestly frustrating but I do know one thing and that is, she is quite easy to talk to. I don't have a lot of friends. I only know Daniel, Issac, and Victoria because they have been a family to me since I came here.
I sigh and take a book from the shelf. I dust the front of the hook before opening it. To my surprise, a picture fell out. I pick it up from my lap and noticed it was the last picture taken of me and my mum when I was almost 15. I have completely forgotten that I kept this photo here. I just held it in my hand and prayed that my mother was still alive.
Scarlett's POV
The next morning I wake up to see that I have slept on the couch. I turn my head to notice there was a blanket covering me. Did Asher put it? What am I saying he's the only one who lives here? Naturally, I smiled a bit. He's sweet sometimes.
"Morning sleepy head" I snap my head to the sound of the voice.
"Daniel?" I raise my eyebrows. "What are you doing- ah yes good morning but what are you doing here?" I ask surprised.
"Asher's out at the moment so he asked me to take care of you," he says and I push the blankly away so that I can stand up. "I was actually wondering where were you last night but I kinda figured you were staying here with Asher" he continues.
"Yes I'm sorry, is just that, Asher insisted me to stay here and not to disturb you guys-"
"Hey, it's no worries." He smiles. I nod in response.
"um, what time is it?" I ask
"9 O'clock in the morning" he smiles.
"Oh, thanks." I say and stretch my arms. " oh but-" I start to say, catching his attention "-is it okay for him to go out? I mean isn't he sick?" I frown
"He'll be fine. He's a monster when it comes to recovery actually" he says
"Monster?" I tilt my head in confusion.
"Yes, monster. He rarely gets sick and when he does he heals pretty quickly" he laughs
"Oh wow, that's definitely not human" I laugh
"I guess that's his talent" he shrugs "Ah I heated up some bread. Please Help yourself" he points to the dining table and I made my way to the chair and sat down.
I take a bite of it and my stomach was wanting more so I ate almost 5 slices of bread.
"I didn't know you ate a lot," he says surprised.
"Haha yeah, I guess I'm a big eater" I giggle in embarrassment. Technically I didn't eat for hours and all I want now is just-food.
"I mean- eating a lot is not a bad thing, in fact, it's good!" He exclaims which made me laugh. "Eat more please," he says and I nod.
"So, you are Isacc's older brother?" I change the subject.
"Younger actually," he says which made me almost spit my food out.
"No way," I say in disbelief. "Your face looks so mature and your height"
"Haha yeah, most people usually think I'm the oldest just because I'm taller than Issac- I mean," he pauses for a moment, "I mean- I will still say I'm childish for my age, my personality will already show it. I'm still pretty playful" He shrugs and smiles widely.
"Haha I see, how old-"
KNOCK KNOCK
"Hey, it's me" Victoria knocks on the door and opens it.
"Good morning" I smile
"Good morning!" She says cheerfully
"Morning Vic" Daniel says
"Morning," she says back to him. "Are you feeling better?" She asks as she looks at me.
"Yea, much better. My feet are still a little pain but I'm able to walk better now"
"That's great! Because I wanted to show you around the village" she says excitedly. She is really hyped in the morning, is she? I couldn't help myself but laugh.
"That will be wonderful but will I be taking up your time?" I ask
"Of course not. I have all day" she smiles. "Shall we go now?"
"Oh now?" I say surprised. "ahm is it okay if I take a shower first?" I have not showered for days and since I came here the first thing I ever did was to sleep. I was so tired I forgot about showering. Gosh, I must really stink.
"Yes please go ahead. I'll wait for you" she nods and I quickly walk up the stairs.
I pause myself halfway remembering that I have no extra clothes. I turn around slowly to look at Victoria. "Sorry but, do you happen to have spare clothes I could use?" I ask hesitantly.
"Yes, I have! Go have your shower. 8mll be back with clothes" she says happy and leaves the house.
"Thank you!" I shout. I look at Daniel and he just gives me a smile. I turn around and went up to take a shower.
The shower was the best thing ever. My skin is finally not feeling sticky anymore and I felt so much cooler. I dry myself with the towel and wrap it around my body. I open the door to see a dress on the ground. I pick it up and quickly put it out. It was a simple blue dress that goes to my knees, and the sleeves were short till my shoulder.
I got myself out of the bathroom and dry my hair one more time with the towel before I hang it on the window to dry. I also made sure I washed my lips and mouth with water. I made my way down to see Victoria and Daniel still here and talking.
"Hey," I say and they both look at me with astonishment.
"You look so much fresher," Daniel says while not breaking eye contact with me. I look at Victoria and I could see her eyes shining. Not literally shining but it could be.
She elbows Daniel in the stomach and he crouches in pain. "What he meant was, you are pretty" she smiles.
"Ohh thanks," I say a feeling flustered. I'm not very good at responding to these.
"But really, you are gorgeous," she says in amazement. I scratch the back of my head not knowing what to say. "Alright, ready?" She asks me
"Yup," I say and followed her out the door.
