Chapter 48

Scarlett's POV

"I have a bad feeling" I say as I hold unto my upset stomach.

"Are you okay deary?" Grace rubs my back and puts hot tea on the table for me. "Have some tea, it may help"

"Thank you Grace" I took a sip.

"What bad feeling though? Do you want to talk about it?" She sits on the chair next to me.

"It's about Philip. The man who came in earlier"

"Mhm"

"He pass me a letter from my mum and I cannot stop worrying because she is in danger... everyone is" I sigh

"What's going on?"

"She wants to solve things on her own and that won't do"

"She is the Queen after all" she says sadly. "It's her job to protect us"

"And she is my mother" I frown

KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK

"Come in" Grace says

"Divian?" I turn to see him surprised.

"Hey... Can I talk to you?" He closes the door behind him and walks to me, still slouching and wrapping my hands around my stomach.

"I'll leave you too" Grace smiles and leaves us.

"Uh are you okay?"

"Yeah no- I mean just a upset stomach" I laugh awkwardly. I clear my throat. "Um so what are you here for?"

"One of the guards told me that we have to be evacuated"

"What do you mean? Are we banished!??"

"No! No No! We are not banished, for goodness sake Scarlett" he sighs. "It's nothing bad- okay maybe it is"

"What is it?!" I say eagerly

"Your mother ask every single one of us to evacuate because apparently your father is gone crazy"

"What!?" I shout unexpectedly loud.

"Scarlett? Is something wrong?" Grace jogs to us.

"What did my father do now?" I stand up from my chair forgetting how painful my stomach was but I just ignored it.

"What's going on!" Grace says loudly catching my attention.

"I don't know my father did something apparently"

"People are dying because of him Scarlett" Divian mumbles.

"What" I gasp

"Yes your father has officially gone psycho. So what now?" Grace asks Divian.

"Evacuation has to happen. Everyone is leaving already"

"N-now!? Oh goodness me! I need to start packing now" Grace rushes up to her room.

"Asher!" I say realising and rush out the door.

"Scarlett!" Divian tries to call after me but it was too late. Asher said he was out buying some groceries. It shouldn't be too far since this village is small. I kept running and running until I was out of breath.

"Are you okay?" A young man comes to me

"I-" I take a breath "Fine" I took another breath of oxygen.

"Ma'am- wait your highness?" His eyes widens in shock. "A-are you sure you are okay? You are breathing quite heavily"

"Yes" I take a breath. "I'm fine- just-"
