Chapter 30

My ears start to pick up birds chirping in the distance. My eyes flutters open, only to be hit by strong light coming out from the window. I get up slowly to look around me. It wasn't a dream. I'm still in this abandoned house. I sigh. I didn't even guy to say bye to Victoria, Issac and Daniel.

I wonder if Theo is okay.

Theo's POV

KNOCK KNOCK

I close my book with loud thud and uncross my legs to stand up. I walk to the door to open it and I wasn't surprised, it was them.

"Hi we are here to inspect" the guard says.

"Inspect? Oh I'm sorry, did I do something wrong?" I act innocently. Yes keep going Theo.

"No, one of our guards told us that he might have saw a princess here and indeed she is somewhere in the mountains" he says

"I'm sorry? The princess coming here?" I say acting confused. "I have not seen her pass by here at all"

"Our friend said, the women in this room looks exactly like the princess, and we suspect that she got help, hiding her." he says a little impatient.

"Woman?" I fold my arms and rise an eyebrow. Yes keep acting. "There's no other woman, than my wife"

"Oh, sorry sir, I didn't know that. Thanks for answering us. Have a good day" He says but still looks at me suspiciously.

"You too. Have a good one" I close the door shut and took a deep breath before walking back to the couch to read my book.

Scarlett's POV

"Morning sleepy head" I snap my head to the sound of Asher's voice.

"Why do you keep calling me sleepy head?" I ask.

"Because you are always sleeping" he shrugs. "Or maybe I should call you sleeping beauty? Morning sleeping beauty." He grins playfully.

"Urgh stop. That sounds so weird" I put my hand up like a stop sign.

"How is that weird?" He says a little sad. "It's cute. My Sleeping beauty"

"M-my?" I blink and my cheeks heat up again. Oh my goodness, I need to stop.

"Uhh" he scratches the back of his head. "Hey wanna eat"

"Um yeah?" I laugh slightly by his sudden change of subject.

"I picked some apples" he takes out an apple from behind him and gives it to me.

"Oh" I take the Apple form his hand. "Everything was in that bag though. What are we gonna do?"

"I'm not that dumb" Asher laughs and pulls out a pouch of money in it.

"Woah" I stand up. "You kept the money in your pocket?"

"Yup, well, I have two" he takes out another bag, that looks slightly smaller.

"Where did you get that from?" I ask

"A thief never reveals his secrets" he grins playfully again.

"Oh yeah, I forgot, you are a thief" I say as I sat back down on the dusty couch, and took a bite of the apple.

"It's a skill" he brags

"Yeah yeah" I say trying to ignore him.

"Anyway, we should stop by somewhere. We can't go on without anything" He says

"Okay. Do you know where to go though?"

"I don't know. Hold on- let me check the map- oh wait we don't have a map because of that fucking beggar" he says frustratedly.
