" could you tell me how you really met Scarlett" Victoria asks while looking out to the fields. We were standing just at the edge of the mountain but of course there's a railing in front of us. It is honestly the best spot to watch the sunrise and sunset.
It's still morning but the sun is starting to shine brighter and I am starting to feel the heat on my skin. The wind blows cooling me down. I sigh, " she was running away from her parents and thats how I met her in town."
"But why?" She faces me.
"She doesn't have a good relationship with her parents" I frown.
"So she's not like her parents" she states
"Yes" I say
"I'm glad" she looks back, admiring the scenery. "But" she says catching my attention. " I can't help but feel that I can't trust her still" She frowns. "Don't get me wrong, she is a good friend, we connected immediately but-
"But you still don't trust her?" I repeat. She looks at me, with her eyes slightly bigger. " I understand why you feel that way but" I took a breath. " you are better than this" I frown.
"Asher I know-
"You don't need to say anymore" I turn around. I can't believe Victoria is acting like this. I understand she will feel hurt but not when she knows that Scarlett and her has been good friends, and not even going with her instincts that Scarlett is clearly a good person. Victoria has always been bright other than crying over failing of tests from school. She thought me how to really live and now I see her like this? Doubting herself on a very obvious thing.
I still like Victoria but now she is a whole different person
"Wait Asher!" Victoria shouts.
"If you want to know about her so badly. Ask her yourself." I grid my teeth and quickly walk back home.
Scarlett's POV
I have been sitting on my bed for who knows how long. I sound startle me and I noticed I have been staring at the same spot. I can't get over the fact that, I feel like this all the time when I'm around him. I hate it, I already know he likes Victoria. Even if she has Issac, I can tell in his eyes how much she means to him.
"Scarlett"
"Oh my goodness!" I jump from my bed.
"I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry" Theo smiled sheepishly.
"I-it's okay, what's going on?" I ask while calming myself down.
"Lunch is ready."
"Already?" I say and my stomach growls.
"Looks like someone is hungry" he chuckles. "Come on"
I nod and followed him downstairs.
"Oh that smells good!" I happily take my sit in front of a plate of rice and salmon and a variety of vegetables. I pout when I saw vegetables.
"It will be good for your health" He take his sit opposite me.
"Alright" I sigh and took a bite of everything. "Wow you are not bad." I say with my mouth full.
He laughs. "Thank you"
The next moment was just silence with sounds of us hitting the plate now and then when we scoop the dishes and than to our mouths.
I wasn't really bothered about how quiet it was. This tastes so good! "Scarlett" he calls me
"Yeah?" I face him.
