My heavy eyes opens slowly and I see a blurry figure sitting at the dining table. I get up slowly and blink my eyes a few times to clear my vision. The first thing I felt was a blanket over me and I push that away and set my feet on the ground. Where did that blankets come from? The next thing was that I saw Asher eating the food I made.
My eyes lit up as I see him enjoying it. He was nodding his head as he takes each bite. I made a little laugh which made him snap his head to me. He probably just realised I'm awake. His face expression suddenly changed and he was looking bright as just now. A slight hurt went through my chest. We aren't at peace with each other yet.
He takes his last bite and brings the plates and utensils with him to the sink. I step up slowly on my feet and made my way up the stairs. I just felt like I shouldn't bother him.
"Have you eaten?" I jump by his sudden voice. The house was so quite until his deep voice was heard.
I step a few steps down so that i could see his face. My stomach grumbles loudly before I even opened my mouth. He sighs and opens the fridge. He takes out some left over food that I made and place it over the fire the heat it up.
I made my way down the steps and sat at the dining table. He doesn't say anything and stares at the pot. It was an awkward silence.
"Did you like it?" I break the silence.
"Like what?" He says without looking at me
"You know? The spaghetti and the pumpkin soup" I smile
"Yea" he says still not looking at me. I just really hope that things between me and him will be better. This situation will probably kill me.
"Hey! Vic coming in" the door suddenly opens and Victoria comes in cheerfully. She pauses when she saw how quiet it was. "Uh I hope I wasn't disturbing anything?"
Asher turns around with his eyes slightly bigger. "Vic? What are you doing here?" He asked rather surprised.
"Uh just checking in! Are you feeling better?" She asks and puts her palm on his forehead. He freezes for a moment probably from the sudden movement she did but later he relaxed.
"I'm fine" he says softly
"Hmm?" She look at me and the looks back at him. " your fever is actually gone" she laughs.
"Told ya I'm fine" he smiles. "His okay? " I say in my head. This whole time he was only looking at her as they continued in their little conversation which kind off made me felt left out. I decided to distract myself by checking the pot of soup and the other was the noodles. I off the fire and took a bowl under the sink and a plate. I put the soup into the bowel and some noodles unto the plate.
"Oh that smells good!" Victoria appears to my side.
"Do you want to try some?" I say brightly to the fact that she noticed the smell of the food.
"Yes please! If you don't mind?" She asks
"Of course. Take a bite" I say and have her a fork and a spoon. She drinks the soup first and ate a few noodles. She moans in delight and gives me a thumbs up.
"Did you make this?" She asks with her mouth still half full.
"Yes I did" I say happy. I'm glad someone thinks my food taste good!
"It's so good" she exclaims. "Hey! Did you try her food?" She asks Asher.
"Uh yea" he gives a quick glance at me before looking at Victoria.
"What's with that response?" Victoria rolls her eyes before looking at me. "I didn't know you could cook so well"
"Ahh no no- I'm not that good" I say feeling flustered.
