"So how long have you known Asher?" Victoria asks as we stroll down the village. There was so many children runnings round, it is so lively in here.
"A few days" I say
"Oh right, I just remembered Asher told us that" she realises and laughs. "Um so you are helping him out to find his mum?" She asks.
I frown in confusion. "Mum? No we were finding a treasure" I say and there was a few seconds of silence between us.
"Scarlet" she says and we stop walking. "You did not know he was looking for his mother all along?" She looks at me with concerned eyes. I just look at her with confusion. Asher never told me anything about his mum? I'm confuse now.
"No" I say unsure. "He told me that his been looking for a treasure"
"Treasure?" She repeats. "I can't believe he will come up with this idea." She rolls her eyes. "Well, I can't tell you everything because this is Asher's private life but I only can tell you that what he meant was he was looking for his mother."
"What?" I breathe. "His been looking for his mother?"
"Yes- well" she sighs and rubs her forehead looking at me again. " alright- I only can tell you this,," she says and I lean in to hear closely. " if you know about what happened to his father, the same thing happened to his mother"
"No" I breathe. "That means his mother is probably dead too" I say softly. That means both his parents were taken away from him?
"I'm sorry scarlet, you will have to ask Asher the full story yourself. This is his private life and is not right for me to tell you" she looks at me apologetically.
"it's alright Victoria- I understand" I nod and smiled. I was still confused because Asher insisted it was a treasure but after hearing this, it might make sense. His mother is not home and he never mentions about her. I could have thought he never had a mum but I assumed he did and I was not wrong. And also, a treasure that is guarded by guards? How can I fall for that, that actually doesn't make any sense. Treasures will never be guarded , especially by the Royal guards that I know off but more like a mystery for people to find.
"Anyway!" She claps her hands together. "That's where we grow our food" She points to the end of the village.
"Wow" I brisk walk to the end to see wide fields with grass that is mowed already. There were a few people throwing seeds over the soil too. Because it was just a field, I could see the talk mountains in the distance. "It's beautiful" I say
"The view? It is isn't it?" She laughs.
"I could see this all day" I chuckle. "I wanna live here"
"You are always welcome to live here! We just need to keep expanding the village as more people come in" she exclaims And I laugh by her big reaction. She is always so bubbly and smiley which makes feel much more comfortable here.
"Vic?" I hear Asher's voice and we both turn around at the same time.
"Asher! Where have you been?" She asks and Asher walks closer to us.
"I was helping Jerald with farming" he says and his eyes softens while looking at Victoria.
"What?" She forwns and the turns to look at me, "Jerald is Isaac's dad" I wasn't expecting her to tell me anything but I gladly nod in response. Than she turns back to Asher and sighs, "aren't you sick?"
"I feel fine" he says
"Are you sure? Did you check you have fever?" She folds her arm and raises her eyebrows.
