Double update today.
Kristi arrived at the Bennett house to find a grumpy Hannah, who said, "You're making me do this?"
"What?" She only knew she was taking Dawn to Freeport to shop.
"Go shopping with my grandmother."
Kristi smiled. "I think it's nice for you to spend time with her."
Dawn appeared with a big smile. "Hi Kristi." When she stepped closer, she whispered, "Things are back to normal."
Kristi smiled. She would bet money Patrick sought Tessa. Although her efforts might have helped, she wasn't convinced when she left Tessa she would run back to Patrick. She was wounded and had a lot of pride. Kristi didn't understand why their being together made her happy. Maybe because she wasn't selfish like Hannah.
The other teens appeared. Brooke said, "We're ready to go."
Kristi looked at the crowd. "Are you all coming?"
Dawn asked, "You don't mind?"
She smiled. "No, I'm thrilled."
Once they were on the road, Kristi asked Hannah, "How was the beach yesterday?"
"Fun, except when my Dad showed up. Who cares that I was supposed to cook dinner?"
He might be mad at even more if Tessa told him the truth.
Dawn said, "I think dinner is the least of your worries."
"What did I do? You know I'm the one who graduated."
Logan said, "His girlfriend overheard all the shhh... baloney you were saying about them."
"So."
Dawn said, "So! He was upset because she wouldn't talk to him for two days. He found out you were the reason."
Kristi asked, "Did they make up?"
"Last night."
"Oh, good!" Kristi needed to show she supported Patrick.
"Why are you glad? You don't like her either!" Hannah's voice filled the large SUV.
"Hannah, we've had this discussion. I wasn't sure of her at the beginning, but I really like her now. In fact, I think she and I can become really good friends. Especially since your father is serious about her."
"Serious! You have got to be kidding me!" Hannah hyperbole made Kristi frowned.
Dawn said, "No, I think Kristi is right. If how upset he was over the rift you caused is a sign, I think they might be even closer now they have made up."
Kristi didn't know if Dawn was laying it on thick or if she believed what she was saying.
Kristi added, "I'm on team Patressa or Tessrick or Patsa. Yes, Patsa."
Hannah glared.
Keep scrolling.
I chose #Patsa as the title of my drafts.
