Heeyoung's Studio Apartment in Gangnam
"-Akemi, Chenle, and Hyunyoung. That's it right? The rest aren't really that important?" Indigo wrote down the names on the sheet of paper she had.
"For me, I guess. Hyunsuk's obviously going to prioritize sending out invites to his workmates and business partners. I don't really need a long guest list, you know?"
A chuckle escaped Indigo's lips. "Even your old classmates too. He would really like everyone to see that you're both getting married."
"Well it's Hyun, he'll go all-out for sure." They both laughed.
The pen on Indigo's hand clicked and the pointer was now gone."How was the meeting with your parents by the way, were they excited for your wedding?" She rested her cheek on her palm.
Heeyoung's facial expression suddenly changed and Indigo immediately knew the answer. "I guess my mom was excited."
"And your dad...?"
"Let's just say he wasn't the happiest after finding out about the twins." She looked down at the floor while fiddling with her fingers.
"Hyunsuk told you already?" She asked in surprise.
"Wait, you know about them?" Her eyebrows furrowed and she felt like she was betrayed.
"Uhm yeah." Indigo chuckled nervously as a wave of guilt rushed through her body.
"Who else knows?"
"His family, their mom's family, his best friends, and me and Ji. I'm not sure if he told anyone else aside from them."
Heeyoung sighed. "You can add my best friend and family to that now."
Their conversation came to a pause now that the atmosphere has thickened. "I do find it quite unfair that he told everyone but me."
"I think that's something you and Hyunsuk can talk to you about. He probably just wanted what he thinks is best for the kids."
"Yeah, we've talked about it. I understand but I just can't help but feel unimportant. I barely even know anything abou them."
"Well, what do you know?"
"Their names, ages, personalities at first glance... I guess that's it." She said. "I don't have much information about this but Hyunsuk mentioned that their mother passed away. It makes me even more sensitive to ask anything about it."
"So you don't know how he had kids or how she died? Stuff like that?"
"No, I don't."
"Wow, he's got a lot to tell you."
Heeyoung sighed. "Now you get why I can't help but feel betrayed? I'm still quite mad that he chose not to tell me in the first place, I just don't show it cause it's such a petty reason."
"Girl, you have the right to feel that way. Just communicate what you feel to him, he'll try to understand you for sure. Honestly, I do think that he should've told you maybe a year after you've started dating cause that means he already trusts you enough to last a whole year with you."
"I want to talk to him but I'm afraid it might turn into an actual fight. We never have fights, we just have short arguments. I'm really scared."
"I would definitely feel the same way but if Jihoon was here, he would tell you to just ask him cause you deserve to know. What if you don't ask and he doesn't tell you more about it either? You're gonna get married to someone who still has secrets that you have to find out about."
She was hesitant because it involved not only Hyunsuk's past but also the passing of a mother. It was not something she could bring up to him even if she was his fiancé. But Indigo had a point and she wanted to do it. It was important that she knows before it's too late.
"I'll try to talk to him as soon as I can. He's quite busy cause of the annual meeting."
Indigo chuckled. "I know, he really tried forcing me to plan the guest list with you. Do I look like the groom? I'm already married to a clown." She joked around to lighten up the mood.
Heeyoung laughed at the joke. "He just trusts you a lot to plan this out with me. I'm surprised he didn't drag Jihoon here too."
"Oh Jihoon's busy with the cafe slash bakery. He's passionate about making bread buns." Indigo laughed.
"Passionate about making bread buns or babies?" Heeyoung smirked which made Indigo's eyes widen.
"Hey! If he was here he would be all cocky and ask me if we can have another one, gosh." She laughed.
"Isn't it tiring though? Taking care of kids?"
"It is but since that they're my own kids seeing the smiles on their faces makes the tiredness worth it."
"I don't think I can think the same way as you, I'm very impatient with kids." Heeyoung lowly chuckled.
"You'll get the hang of it, just make sure that if you decide to get mad, it's for a good reason. Kids are sensitive and people getting mad at them can scar them for life."
"Do you think I'll be a good step-mom?"
"I can't answer that for you cause I've never seen you with kids." Indigo chuckled. "But you'll do alright." She gave her a reassuring smile.
Indigo could sense that Heeyoung still wasn't convinced. "I have an idea, what if you try taking one of the twins out for a day? See if they'll be alright with it?" She suggested.
"What? Do you want me to die early? What if they accidentally bump their head? Hyunsuk would freak out."
"That's why you'll take just one out, if you handle two at the same time you really might die early."
"If you're having trouble you can give me a call so they can hang out with my kids and we can look after them together." Indigo excitedly smiled.
"Are you really sure about this?"
"100% sure. I babysat the twins before and they were pretty okay to me, Haruto still calls me noona even if I'm his aunt." She chuckled.
"Fine, I'll tell you when I ask permission from Hyun."
"Yassss! I'm so excited for this."
