Dohyun instructed the driver to take Hyunsuk and Heeyoung home cause his best friend wasn't in the right state to drive. He assured Hyunsuk that he'll take care of the remaining work left and that he should focus on his situation for the meantime. Heeyoung was glad that he could handle things in the office for a while now that her fiancé needs to rest.
The car ride home was tense and silent, no one dared to utter a single word to each other. Hyunsuk just stared out at the window with his puffy, bloodshot eyes. She kept looking at him out of concern cause she never saw him like this before. He was usually the one who gives positive energy to the people around him.
Even the maids could tell that there was something wrong once they greeted their boss as he entered his home. The couple went straight upstairs to the master bedroom and did their usual routine to wash up. Heeyoung finished first as he was taking longer than usual in the bathroom. Eventually, he got out and immediately laid down on the bed to sleep facing away from her.
Once he fell asleep, she went out of the room and tried diverting her attention to something else while waiting for the kids to come home. She played a random K-drama on Netflix in the living room but her mind drifted off to somewhere else.
If he isn't their father, does this mean that Wakumi lied to him?
How will the kids react if they find out?
Who's their real father?
She eventually got a headache after thinking about it. Heeyoung went to the kitchen and got herself a glass of water while asking for some medicine from the maids. She popped the tablet in her mouth and chugged down some water right after.
Heeyoung glanced at the wall clock and sighed. She sighs and shuts her eyes for a moment as she realizes that she's been awake for more than 24 hours already. "I need some sleep."
She goes back up to the master bedroom and sees that Hyunsuk is awake, just using his phone. "Hi Hyun." She greets him as she shuts the door.
He just glances at her and pays attention to his phone instead. She lays down beside him and sees that he's just scrolling through his social media account.
"How are you feeling? Do you need anything?" She faces him.
"No, I'm fine." He says without looking at her.
A sigh escapes her lips. "Why did I even ask, of course you aren't fine." She softly says.
"It's good that you still have a brain to think of that." He annoyingly tells her.
Heeyoung furrows her eyebrows and sits down on the bed. "Woah, there's no need to be so rude." She scoffs.
"I'm not being rude." He rolls his eyes.
"The audacity for you to say that and roll your eyes right after."
"If you're just going to annoy me the entire time, why don't you just leave?" He sits down as Heeyoung gets out of the bed to stand up.
"Yeah, maybe I should just leave. I can't believe that my own fiancé is getting so annoyed with me when I haven't done anything else for the past few hours other than support him and be there for him. I should be the one who's mad right now but did I ever say a word to you while you were crying and sulking?" Heeyoung raises her voice.
"You? You should be mad? I didn't even fucking do anything yet you're mad at me? Wow." He scoffs.
"Should I make a list of things that I should be mad about? First, you don't tell me about this whole DNA test thing. Second, I'm guessing that the reason why you were so busy at work was to distract yourself from that to the point that the kids haven't properly seen you or talked to you in almost 2 weeks. Third, you're making me feel like it's wrong that I'm trying to comfort you. You're making me feel like I'm shit here, Hyunsuk."
He rolls his eyes again. "Why on Earth do I even need to tell you about that? Do you need to know every single thing that I do? Should I update you every time I do something like you're some fucking FBI?"
Heeyoung's lips parted. "Who am I?" Her eyes turned watery as she gets offended by his statement. "I'm your fiancée, Hyunsuk. You don't need to tell me everything but you need to tell me what matters. What's going on in your life so I can understand you better. If you aren't willing to cooperate and give value to that then it's best if you do handle things on your own from now on."
A wave of guilt rushes through his body as Heeyoung hurriedly grabs her jacket from the seat and walks out of the room. "Heeyoung wait–"
He stands up and tries following after her but she was too fast, as he reaches the bottom of the stairs she was already outside. He sighs for the nth time today. "Oh god, what did I do..." He whispers to himself and stomps going back up to his room and slams the door shut.
