"Areum, love?"

Called San as he opened the door to the roof of the hospital and let the cold breeze infiltrating through his clothes and throwing into disarray his hair. He took a couple of steps on the concrete, eyes sifting the entire space around him to look for the woman of his life and, once he found her, he marched towards her, carefully as if scared to frighten or bother her. The door closed on its own with a creepy and long squeaking sound.

Areum was by the balustrade with her arms tightly folded around her body to attempt to keep herself warm. The freezing air was cutting her cheeks that had already reddened by the continuous movement of brushing with the sleeve of her cardigan to dry her tears. She was sobbing, when San finally reached her, and sniffled with her nose.

"Love?"

The man whispered, bending his back a little to peek over her hair to check her status. She flinched and quickly dried the last tear before turning on her heels to face her worried husband. When San spotted those red cheeks and the tip of her nose and her swollen lips, his heart broke into million pieces. The man had never seen her crying in that way, not even when she gave birth to their daughter. Areum gulped loudly before speaking.

"No one believes me."

She murmured, moving her eyes on the skyscrapers that stood out and surrounded the building she and the rest of the group were in. The sky was a dull grey, the clouds seemed humongous and fluffy cotton balls, that weather reflected exactly what Areum was feeling inside of her. Her little world of peace and love was destroyed by Hee-Young, who managed to convince Areum's friends with her fake and tear-jerking story about how she didn't feel appreciated and loved. What could Areum say? The woman felt like a danger to everyone.

San, on the other side, didn't know what to say: the story that Hee-Young had told was the truth, there was no other explanation, the real struggle came when an explanation was needed, for example, how was possible for the couple to have a demon child after three years that the Incubus had been banished? This was the object of study for Hongjoong and Mr. Kang.

So, the man did the only thing that came up to his mind. He stepped towards his wife and encircled her body with his strong arms, pulling her against his chest and tightening the grip.

"Everything will be alright, I'm sure of it."

San claimed whereas kissing the top of her head and inebriating his lungs with her perfume. Areum placed her hand on his hard chest and pulled herself away enough to look at him in the face, despite the height difference. Her eyes were glassy and listless, any trace of vitality and hope had completely disappeared from her. Empty, so shallow that the man could almost see inside them.

"Do you believe me?"

She whispered, looking at him with need as if she needed him to believe her. San panted, taken aback by her question and unsure about his reply. Did he believe her? No, Hee-Young's story was the raw truth, what bother Areum was the fact that her daughter reminded her of that Incubus that had been haunting her and bringing her to the verge of a breakdown. So, the man tightened the grip around her body and made her lay her head against his chest again, caressing her dark hair as he replied.
