Chapter Four

Arabella had endured a both mentally and physically draining first month back. For one, everyone in the school was constantly reminding her of the fact that her father was one of the most wanted people in the world at that moment and they all weren't letting her forget it. Secondly, straight after one of the dementor creatures had almost been the cause of her death, she found out that those wretched things were to be guarding the school, grounds until Sirius Black was caught and captured again. The things swarmed the Hogwarts grounds and you weren'y able to go anywhere outside of the castle without at least unintentionally spotting one or two, that was if you were lucky enough for them not to come right up close to you either.

Another reason why her first month back had been one of the worst starts of a school year so far for Arabella was that her arch nemesis Draco Malfoy had been constantly tormenting her and Harry about the incident on the train and about her parents too. Luckily by this point Arabella had already been learning to zone out and not let his comments bother her since her first ever day at Hogwarts but for some reason now, they were getting to her a little more.

She couldn't understand why they had only started to actually bother her now but the worst thing about it was that Malfoy had actually started to realise these comments had been bugging her and continued saying them ever the more, making them actually worse than they had been before.

But it did pay off to see him be beaten up by one of Hagrid's Hippogriff's during their first 'care for magical creatures' lesson with Hagrid. It must have been the most amusing sight she had seen in a long time. Arabella couldn't tell whether he was being an obnoxious and over-dramatic bitch or whether he was actually really injured but either way she found it hilarious.

Speaking of new lessons she had, since it was now her third year at Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry, all the third-year students got some new classes that they had to take. Arabella had chosen Divination and Care for Magical Creatures along with Sage, Lawrence, Harry, Ron and Hermione who had actually picked a few more subjects along with those. She could never understand her enthusiasim for school though, but Hermione was top in all of her classes anyway.

For some odd reason, everyone seemed to hate the only subject that Arabella enjoyed and was actually doing really well at. Divination was apparently collectivly agreed as one of the worst and most boring subjects next to 'A history of magic' by almost every student in the year. She could hardly understand why thought, Arabella found it rather interesting and proved herself to be extrremely skilled and good in the classes, quickly becoming top of the class. But although she had to admit that some of the things they were 'taught' in those lessons did sound a little mumbo jumbo to her, so at least she could see where Hermione was coming from with her absolute haterid for it.

But on the complete opposite of that, her new found favourite subject was by far Defence against the dark arts. It was always a lesson that had seemed so bland and unappealing to her but after Professor Lupin took the class, it quickly became one of the most thrilling and exiting lessons she had ever had. She became delighted every time one of the defence against the dark arts lessons was part of her school day when she was packing her bag for the day in the morning and mostly everyone in the school felt the same about it too.
