FINALLY
Chapter Fourteen

The last few dementors were obliterated by the great glowing blue orb and the dragon disintegrated into the nights air with a small poof, their final hisses and screeches drowned out by it's melodious hum. Arabella ignored the ragged outlines of Dementors and watched carefully through the misty haze as her past-self's body fell majestically to the ground.

She lowered her wand, still stunned by the outcome of the situation. Arabella had used the patronus charm, to some extent, already but for her to produce her full on patronus felt as if it was a huge accomplishment, even if was something as small as that.

After catching her breath for a few moments, the trio headed back into the woods in search of Buckbeak whom they planned to hitch a ride on the back of back to Hogwarts castle, or at least up to the top of the tower in which Sirius and Maya would be locked up within.

It was thrilling to be on the back of Buckbeak once again, even better with Hermione and Harry beside her. She thought the magnificent creature was breathtakingly beautiful, in it's own way of course, and she couldn't understand how anyone would want to hurt it. Of course this had made her anger for the Malfoys to grow in that short space of time.

"See, it wasn't another person you saw at the lake before Elle, it was yourself," Hermione looked over her shoulder, smiling, "you saw yourself conjuring the patronus charm earlier."

"You knew you could do it, because you had already done it!" Harry answered, observing the baffled look on Arabella's face, "Does that make sense?"

"No!" She laughed, just as Buckbeak turned to make a dive as they approached the castle's walls once again. The wind bit into her face gently, billowing through her hair so it rested behind her like she was some sort of shampoo model on a TV advert.

It truly was amazing to be flying in the air however, and it was this that made her wish deeply that she could have been good at quidditch. It seemed such a shame that both her parents were star players on the Gryffindor team during their time at school, and Arabella could barely catch a quaffle. Maybe Sage could teach her over the summer, she was brilliant at quidditch.

The dreaded tower had approached them faster than they could think, and from a distance even Arabella could spy the small barred opening at the doorway. It was definitely a sad sight to behold; the two of them were slumped up against the back wall, Maya's head draped onto Sirius' shoulder and both of their hands interlocked. Arabella couldn't help but feel her heart pang for them both, they had been through so much just for the outcome to turn out to be like this.

Buckbeak's hooves clambered onto the cold stone floor outside the cell, drawing the attention of her parents to themselves. She was utterly delighted to see their faces lit up with joy once again, their saddened features aching with happiness.
