A NEW NEMESIS Chapter Twenty Four
"I want answers."
Arabella slumped lazily into the armchair opposite Dumbledore, who was staring dazedly across the polished wooden desk with a look of bewilderment across his greyed face.
"Whatever are you talking about?"
"Alright, I came off as a bit harsh, sorry," She sat up straight, "But I've spent the entirety of the past week searching endlessly through the library for anything that could even minutely relate to my family and I have found nada, absolute zilch."
"And what has lead you to believe that I could be of any use?" Dumbledore leaned forward, only now he was interested in the conversation.
"Well," Her eyes flickered up to the ceiling, her lips pursed, as she thought deeply, "You started telling me about them you know, and I've just been-"
"Do you understand what you have just told me Miss Black," His voice consumed with amusement, "That when you have just been told that you're bloodline is descended from Merlin, and you have gained a share of his powers, the only thing you can think about is your ancestors?"
"Well, yeah." She shrugged.
"I will never be able to understand you and your thought process," He chuckled, pushing himself up off the chair, "but, I believe I may own something that may help with your search..."
"Oh, thanks." She beamed, watching with curiosity as his finger scanned across numerous different titles, until it stopped hesitantly on one.
"Most of the information I have given you so far is first-hand," He pottered about the office, until finally he dropped the book in front of her, a small cloud of dust arising as it did so, "In my many years of teaching, I have met both the famous Coventrys."
"Who?"
"I taught your Great-Great Grandmother, Rosalie, in 1934," He nodded gently, "She was an exceptionally talented witch, never failing to make her house proud. She broke free of the family after marrying a muggleborn, and suffered terribly because of it, but she braved her way through it and is the reason you're here today."
"She sounds amazing," Arabella smiled, somehow feeling a sense of pride of someone who was coincidentally long dead, "was that the end of the pure blood line then?"
Dumbledore froze, his eyes widening as if he was mentally running through something before making a firm decision, "Yes."

Arabella clutched the thickly bound book to her chest as if her life depended on it, now she had gotten what she wanted, and could go on living her life harmoniously without being in constant search of answers. She brushed past heaps of gathering students in the corridors, until she felt something grab her sleeve.
