A/N: Don't be mad at me. I promise things will get great...

Billie.

September 21, 2018.

After sleeping over at Sage's house the other night, I thought everything was great. We didn't talk about who Sophia was or what about her made Sage so anxious. I wanted to ask her but didn't want to overstep. Clearly, whoever Sophia is put Sage in a horrible state of mind and that's the last thing I'd want to do. The thing is, she hasn't called me all week and she's been extremely distant. She has responded to a couple of texts but they've been really brief and unlike Sage. Again, I don't want to push her but I'm worried about her. She's out in this huge city all alone and technically I'm the only person she knows. I'm not saying she can't handle herself, because I know she can; but the thought of her being anxious and scared all alone breaks my heart. She was finally opening up her beautiful soul to me and I felt like we were going places but now I don't know.

I angrily threw my head back and let out a deep breath after Sage declined yet another FaceTime. "What's got you so mad?" My dad asked with a raised brow.

"Nothing," I mumbled, getting up off the couch and grabbing my car keys. "I'm going out," I announced to nobody in specific before slamming the door behind me and jogging to my car.

This is probably overstepping boundaries but I'm concerned. Sage is precious and started playing a big role in my life quickly. I tapped my fingers on the steering wheel all the way to Sage's apartment building.

Upon arriving, nothing seemed out of the ordinary. There was soft music coming from behind the door. Maybe she's been really caught up in writing, I thought. I slowly raised a fist to her door and knocked softly a few times.

Bouncing from the balls of my feet to my toes I waited for the door to open, and when it did Sage had a worried and guilty look on her face. "B-Billie, what are you doing here?"

"Umm..." I froze all of a sudden when I heard the tap turn off in the bathroom. "You haven't been returning my calls all week and I started getting worried," I admitted, suddenly feeling embarrassed.

"Oh, um I'm sorry," she hesitated, tripping over her tongue.

"It's no problem, I just thought-" I cut myself off when a girl with long dark hair walked out of the bathroom in just a towel, she also froze upon seeing me. I looked back and forth between Sage and Sophia a few times. A look on Sage's face I couldn't read.

"Ya know, I better go," I signalled before darting down the carpeted hallway and back down to my car.

Sage

2 hours earlier...

"I was shocked to get a text from you," I admitted as Sophia laid down on my bed.

"Why? We were together for a long time," she chuckled.

"Yeah and I blocked you from everything. How'd you get my new number anyways?"

"I have my ways," she shrugged.

"You're still the same arent you?" I scoffed with an eye roll.

"Don't roll your eyes at me," she demanded, stepping off my bed and slowly walking closer to me. Every step she took towards me, I took one back until I felt my back bump into the wall.

"Are you still scared of me?" She chuckled, tilting her head to the side slightly.

Yes.

"N-no," I stuttered out, her eyes staring into my soul. I swear this girl can read my thoughts and not in a good way. She reads my brain and twists it until I'm brainwashed. I know that now but I didn't in the past.

Her low chuckle sent shivers up my spine, her soft face slowly inching closer to mine until her nose brushed up against mine. A breath hitched in my throat when her ice-cold fingertips brushed up against my hips. "You know you miss me," she whispered out.

"I don't," I shook my head.

"Then how come..." she paused, placing a kiss on my jaw, "you let me into your apartment?"

"I-i..." I tripped over my own words as her hot breath hit my lips.

"I know you want to kiss me. Just do it," she husked.

Once again, I fell under her spell and leaned forward, pressing my lips against hers. My lonely hormones took over, it felt like it wasn't me doing this, my body just made a decision without consulting me first. The kiss got heated quickly as she took the lead, being her regular dominant self.

Her hands travelled down my hips and onto my ass picking me up as I wrapped my legs around her waist. She eagerly carried me over to my bed and threw me down, the adrenaline pumping through my veins. I couldn't say no.

I was sitting on the bed, scrolling through my phone as Sophia was taking a shower after our.....session; when I heard a knock on the door. My eyebrows furrowed together in confusion as I thought about who it could be. After a few seconds of contemplating what to do, I decided to open the door and that's when a set of piercing blue eyes looked into mine.

Instantly my gut twisted feeling guilty as hell even though I owed nothing to Billie. We arent together, hell I don't even know if she likes me. I kinda assume she's just a naturally flirty person but I like her and in my head, I feel guilty for what just happened; especially after she calmed me down after seeing Sophia at the park less than a week ago.

"B-Billie, what are you doing here?" I stuttered out.

"Umm..." She froze all of a sudden when we both heard the tap turn off in the bathroom. "You haven't been returning my calls all week and I started getting worried," she said with a slightly red face. I was just hoping Sophia would stay where she was.

"Oh, um I'm sorry," I hesitated, tripping over my tongue. I didn't intentionally not return her calls, I was just extremely stressed out and exhausted with Sophia nonstop calling me.

"It's no problem, I just thought-" She started but was instantly cut off when Sophia walked out of the bathroom in just a white towel. Sophia looked at Billie and froze, all of us froze, the tension in the room getting thick. Billie's eyes darted from mine to Sophia's a couple of times. I was stuck, I didn't know what to do or say at that moment.

"Ya know, I better go," Billie said before darting down the carpeted hallway until she was out of sight. I turned around and Sophia started laughing hysterically, it became frightening.

"You should go," I told her before closing the door and grabbing her scattered clothes from around my apartment floor.

"Why?" She scoffed.

"Because, you got what you wanted and now you can fucking leave," I stated plainly, throwing all her clothes at her.

"Damn, she shows up and you turn into a bitch," Sophia rolled her eyes, walking into the bathroom with her clothes.
