Sage.September 22, 2018.
I woke up feeling a pang of guilt in my chest, and a whole lot of pain in my lower back. I let out a sigh before immediately grabbing my phone and calling the two girls I trust most.
"This better be fucking good Sage," Aria answered the group facetime with her eyes closed, still wrapped up in her sheets.
"You're just lazy, It's 10 am," Sierra rolled her eyes.
"Guys," I weakly spoke, both of their faces immediately warping into concern.
"What happened?" Sierra asked.
"I ugh... I slept with Sophia last night," I admitted, ready for them to start yelling at me.
"Are you fucking stupid?!" Aria shot up in her bed with wide eyes.
"Yeah," I nodded.
"Why would? How? When?" Sierra stuttered over her questions.
"The worst part is, I'm falling for Billie and I fucking did that. I mean, we aren't together but I thought things were going somewhere," I sighed, internally beating myself up.
"Okay, start from the beginning ma'am."
"Basically a week ago, Billie and I were at the park cuddled up on a blanket, honestly I thought we would kiss but then I hear my name and boom there she was. I almost had a panic attack but Billie completely relaxed me and stopped it from going anywhere bad, but fucking psychopath somehow got my number and called me all week and-"
"Slow down, damn. Take a breath," Sierra cut me off from my ramble.
"Sorry." I took a deep breath. "Anyway, Sophia didn't stop calling me so I finally answered. She convinced me she just wanted to talk and wanted to know why I broke up with her, but before we even got that far she had me pinned down."
"Okay wow," Aria's eyes were wide and Sierra looked like she could start crying at any minute.
"Why didn't you block the bitches number?" Sierra asked.
"Uh...I don't know, I forgot that was a thing," I shrugged. I don't know why I didn't think of that honestly.
"Okay, you are fucking stupid, it's confirmed."
"Anyway, block her number and go talk to Billie. You said she calmed you down before you had a panic attack? No one else has the ability to do that, she seems perfect from what all your texts say!"
"You're right," I sighed. "She also ended up coming over while Sophia was here..."
"WHAT? YOU JUST LEFT OUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART," Aria shouted.
"It was humiliating. I opened the door for Billie while she was taking a shower and before we could talk, Sophia walked out of the bathroom."
"Oh my god, did she see anything?"
"No, she was in a fucking towel, but Billie just walked away."
"Okay, I don't care if you have plans today, cancel them and go see Billie," Aria demanded.
We talked for a few more minutes about what I should say and do before I took a shower, put on some light makeup and anxiously made my way to Billie's house just hoping she was there. Knocking on the door with trembling hands I was met with Maggie's smiling face. "Hello dear, " she smiled, "You must be Sage?"
"Uh, yeah that's me. Is Billie home?"
"Yeah she's in Finneas' old bedroom, " she explained, leading me to the room. She opened up the door, both Finneas and Billie looked up at the door, Billie's eyes lit up instantly.
"S-sorry I don't mean to interrupt, " I stuttered. Why the fuck am I always stuttering?
"Nah, all good, " Billie smiled, hopping off the bed and grabbing my hand, practically dragging me across the hall to her room. I stood in the middle of her room, feeling a little light-headed and unaware of how to go about this conversation.
Billie closed the door and turned to me with an unreadable expression, "What's up?" She asked.
"I-uh...I'm really fuckin mad at myself," I admitted, staring at the floor.
"Why?"
"Because, I was stupid this whole week and especially last night," I explained with a shaky voice, feeling a sting in my eyes.
"Hey, we all do stupid shit, it's okay," she assured me, stepping closer until she was within distance to grasp both my hands in hers.
"S-Sophia, she's my ex," I breathed out, using all my power not to cry or let a tear shed.
"Okay?" She questioned softly, hinting at me to continue.
"Umm, she was toxic I guess...but that's not even why I feel guilty," I took a deep breath, finally looking up at Billie where our eyes locked, "This is harder than I thought it would be," I chuckle as a single tear falls down my cheek. Billie softly took one hand out of mine, using the pad of her thumb to wipe away my tear. As I looked into her eyes, butterflies erupting in my stomach at how close in my proximity she was.
Not another word was said as her hand glided from my cheek to my jaw, then the side of my neck. She slowly glanced down at my lips, inching my face closer and closer to hers until my lips met hers. Immediatly my eyes fluttered shut at the delicate feeling of our lips moving in synch. My knees became weak but she soon pulled away. Even though our lips only touched for a very few seconds, I missed them. My eyes hadn't opened back up yet when I pulled her in again, desperate for more.
I've kissed many people before but never once did it feel like this. I thought this type of feeling while having your lips caress another set was only written in fairytales... but I was wrong. I immediately became intoxicated with her aura. It's like I could feel the empty hole of loneliness being sucked out of my body. My body going almost limp in the best way possible. She was holding me tightly now, one hand still on the side of my neck, the other around my waist, my hands wrapped around the back of her neck.
She pulled away, only a few inches from my face, a smile taking over both our lips. "So, like I was saying, I felt guilty because I'm falling for you," I admitted shyly.
"I kinda got that," she chuckled.
